Abstract: A system and method are provided for relaying content items such as messages to an individual. In one embodiment, a content relay system implemented, for example, in software includes logic to store a content item in a first format received from a sending device in a memory. Rather than trying to contact an individual via one of many different devices, the content relay system advantageously provides for a single central location that may be contacted. The content relay system also includes logic to identify a select one of a number of recipient devices according to a predefined priority to receive the content item. The content relay system further comprises logic for transmitting the content item to the select one of the recipient devices.

Abstract: A system and method for formatting a publication are provided. Broadly stated, the method comprises the steps of associating a content item with a publication in the server, identifying a presentation platform from a number of potential presentation platforms, and generating an output file in the server including the content item in a digital format recognizable by the presentation platform.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for wireless coupon redemption includes a coupon service provider coupled to a wide area network and a wireless network to deliver an electronic coupon to a transportable communication unit. A merchant, comprising a wireless receiver coupled to a redemption device, is coupled to the coupon service provider such that a tender of said coupon by the transportable communication unit made via the wireless receiver is conveyed to the coupon service provider and an approval to redeem the coupon is conveyed from the coupon service provider to the redemption device.

Abstract: Consumer preferences can be structured into a profile that specifies by certain objective criteria, the characteristics of items to be purchased. Database records of items in inventory are structured to record the criteria used to identify products. Consumer preferences that specify items using objective criteria can be sorted and based upon the outcome of such a sort, items that comport with the preferences can be identified for purchase by the consumer.

Abstract: A method for and apparatus capable of generating a personalized activity publication includes the receipt of a publication profile from a requesting user. A lesson plan based, at least in part, on at least a subset of a plurality of information in accordance with the received publication profile is dynamically generated. Periodically, a targeted publication is assembled for delivery to the requesting user to satisfy at least a subset of the lesson plan generated from the publication profile.
