    Abstract: A holder for a syringe to protect the user after administering an injection. The holder has a housing with an open end to receive the syringe barrel so that the needle projects beyond the other end of the housing for use. A spring retracts the needle after use, and a clip can be used to secure the syringe in its retracted position. The holder housing has means for releasably securing the syringe in a second position that provides for use of the syringe while in the holder.
