    Abstract: A urinary incontinence device comprising a flexible but shape-retaining body portion is disclosed wherein the body portion has a longitudinal axis extending from an anterior end to a posterior end thereof. The body portion is elongated in the direction of the longitudinal axis and has a length and width sufficient to cover the vulva or retracted penis of a human female or male and to form a urine-receiving receptacle. The receptacle h a shallow urine directing portion sloping inwardly and downwardly away from the vulva or retracted penis, and a deeper, narrower central urine collection portion having a urine outlet. The receptacle is elongated in the direction of the longitudinal ax of the body portion. The device also includes an attachment flange having an anterior end and a posterior end corresponding to the anterior end and the posterior end of the body portion, respectively.

    Abstract: An ostomy pouch is disclosed which comprises a proximal and a distal side wall of flexible sheet material joined together along their peripheral edges to define a cavity therebetween. The side walls are also joined in at least one location inwardly of the peripheral edges to limit the separation of the proximal and distal side walls. With this construction, the side walls also include a laterally outwardly expandable fold which is formed by at least a portion of at least one of the side walls.

It uses a non-linear shaped preferably medical grade flexible film piece having upper, preferably middle and lower portions and a pull tab permanently adhered to the upper portion of the film piece. A backing paper is removably adhered to the middle portion and to the lower portion which may be removed to reveal an adhesive that will provide skin adherence in a sealable relationship to prevent underlying wounds from moisture contact. When finished, the film piece may be conveniently removed by pulling on the pull tab permanently adhered to the upper portion of the film piece.
