    Abstract: A system performs concurrent detection and early detection of epileptic seizure episodes, based on scalp electroencephalogram (EEG) of a patient collected through a data acquisition device in the course of the patient's normal daily activities. An early detection model, which is trained and retrained applying machine learning techniques at predetermined intervals on the collected data, enables issuing of an early warning of an upcoming seizure episode to allow the patient to take necessary preparatory actions (e.g., seeking a safe location for the episode to happen and alerting care-givers).

A wireless device may communicate with a cellular base station in accordance with an original communication configuration. The wireless device may determine that a communication activity is occurring at the wireless device that has a duration longer than a duration threshold. The wireless device may provide an indication to the cellular base station to modify the communication configuration with respect to operation in an unlicensed frequency band based at least in part on determining that a communication activity is occurring at the wireless device that has a duration longer than the duration threshold. The wireless device may communicate with the cellular base station in accordance with a modified communication configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus for a user equipment to implement a dynamic discard timer. The user equipment may generate a packet for transmission and store the packet in a buffer of the user equipment. The user equipment may then generate a timeout value for a discard timer for the buffer, where the discard timer discards the packet from the buffer when the timeout value is reached. After a predetermined amount of time, the user equipment may determine whether the packet has been discarded from the buffer and, when it is determined that the packet has not been discarded from the buffer, update the timeout value.

    Abstract: A method of adaptively controlling the data rate in a transmission channel carrying a packet data signal corresponding to a data stream of variable data rate is suggested. In accordance with the method the variability of the transmission channel, the data rate requirement of the data stream, and the capacity of the transmission channel are determined. Then, the data rate is adapted so that the transmission channel capacity exceeds the data rate requirement of the data stream, and the next time instant for data rate probing and adaptation is determined based upon the transmission channel variability and data stream rate requirement.
