  • Publication number: 20130053057
Abstract: A system and method for controlling a mobile device at a headend includes the mobile device communicating a request for content to the headend. The headend requests geographic coordinate location data from the mobile device and, when geographic coordinate data is available, determines a first geographic region associated with the mobile device in response to the geographic coordinate location data. When geographic coordinate data is not available from the mobile device, the headend extracts an IP address from the request and determines a second geographic region based on the IP address and a confidence level. When the confidence level is below a threshold, the headend determines a third geographic region based on subscriber data for the mobile device. The headend controls the mobile device in response to one of the first geographic region, the second geographic region and the third geographic region.

  • Publication number: 20120103597
Abstract: An outer wellhead member has a bore with a first profile portion and an annular recess. A tubular inner wellhead member with a centralizer/overpull ring is lowered into the outer wellhead member. The centralizer/overpull ring is biased to expand outward to engage the bore of the outer wellhead member to center the inner wellhead member within the bore as the inner wellhead member is lowered through the bore. The recess of the outer wellhead member is adapted to receive the centralizer/overpull ring and oppose axial movement of the centralizer/overpull ring to enable an upward test pull of the inner wellhead member.

  • Publication number: 20090059209
Abstract: A grating sensor and method for optical interrogation of that sensor uses a lock-in technique to achieve simultaneous measurements of strain (and related temperature) and ultrasonic stress wave signals, as well as other environmental conditions that affect a reflection spectrum of the grating sensor. It achieves this by using a lock-in amplifier or a software demodulator to detect slight shifts in the grating reflection spectrum with high sensitivity and accuracy. A dynamic feedback loop based on the lock-in error signal output retunes the light wavelength of the light source (e.g., a tunable laser) or of a wavelength filter in the reflection path to maintain it relative to a specified reflection point of the grating reflector. The lock-in error signal serves as a measure of temperature/strain changes and of ultrasonic vibrations.
