Finally, the N-cyclohexylidene ethyl urotropine hydrochloride (V) undergoes hydrolysis and rearrangement reaction in a solvent in the presence of an inorganic mineral acid to synthesize 2-(1-cyclohexenyl)ethylamine (I).
