    Abstract: Apparatus and methods implementing a Remote Snoop Filter (“RSF”) for reducing unnecessary snoops to one or more Field Programmable Gate Arrays (“FPGAs”) in a hardware system by tracking the address and state of each cache line cached in the FPGA's cache. The apparatus include one or more processors, one or more FPGAs, and a system memory. Each processor further comprises a Caching and Home Agent (“CHA”), an L3 or Last Level Cache (“LLC”), and one or more cores wherein each core contains a core cache. The CHA implements and manages an RSF which tracks the address and state of each cache line stored in the one or more FPGAs. The hit/miss result from an RSF lookup is used by the CHA to determine whether or not to filter snoops to the FPGAs. A cache line miss in the RSF indicates that the requested cache line is not in any of the FPGAs and thus no snoop to the FPGA should be issued. This ensures that the FPGAs are generally not snooped unless necessary.

    Abstract: An exemplary method includes forming a dummy gate structure over a substrate and forming a set of spacers adjacent to the dummy gate structure. The set of spacers includes spacer liners disposed on sidewalls of the dummy gate structure and main spacers disposed on the spacer liners. The spacer liners include silicon and carbon. The method further includes forming source/drain epitaxy regions over the substrate. The source/drain epitaxy regions are disposed adjacent to the set of spacers, such that the dummy gate structure is disposed between the source/drain epitaxy regions. The method further includes removing the main spacers after forming the source/drain epitaxy regions. The method further includes replacing the dummy gate structure with a gate structure, where the replacing includes removing the dummy gate structure to form a trench defined by the spacers liners, such that the gate structure is formed in the trench.

    Abstract: A fingerprint sensor and a correction method thereof are provided. The fingerprint sensor includes a sensing part to be touched by a finger, including sensing units, a processing unit, and a correction unit; the sensing unit is configured to sense, when correction starts, a fingerprint signal and output first data; the processing unit is configured to calculate, according to a mathematical model, a new correction coefficient of the corresponding sensing unit by the first data; and the correction unit is configured to correct, according to the new correction coefficient, second data output by the corresponding sensing unit. The fingerprint sensor can automatically modify a correction coefficient when a physical characteristic of the fingerprint sensor changes, thereby reducing the product return rate and prolonging the product service life, omitting a step of correction before delivery, and reducing the manufacturing difficulty and the manufacturing costs.

A first charge trapping dielectric etching process is performed to form an opening in the charge trapping dielectric structure over the logic region, and a thermal gate dielectric layer is formed within the opening. A second charge trapping dielectric etching process is performed to remove the charge trapping dielectric structure over the select gate region. Gate electrodes are formed over the thermal gate dielectric layer and the charge trapping dielectric structure remaining after the second charge trapping dielectric etching process.
