  • Patent number: 8634823
Abstract: A system and method for measuring and monitoring the transmitted power from cellular antennas, and reporting the measurement over AISG protocol back to the user. The device associated with this system and method is capable of retrofitting existing telecommunications antennas currently in use by connecting directly in-line with an AISG communication cable already interfaced with the antenna. The system will monitor the broadcast power level of the antenna and may optionally be set to provide the user with alerts when the power levels are not within ideal parameters.

  • Patent number: 8635623
Abstract: A multi-layer workflow architecture for a print shop is disclosed. The workflow architecture includes a workflow front end, service bus, and service providers. The workflow front end provides an interface to print shop operators. The service providers are each associated with a device in the print shop. The service bus represents the layer between the workflow front end and the service providers. In operation, the service providers report device capabilities for devices to the service bus. The workflow front end receives the device capabilities from the service bus, and provides the device capabilities to a user to allow the user to define a job ticket based on the device capabilities. The service bus identifies the processes defined in the job ticket, and identifies the service providers operable to provide the processes. The service bus then routes process messages to the identified service providers to execute the processes on the devices.

  • Patent number: 8634229
Abstract: A memory cell is provided with a transistor which includes source and drain electrodes formed in a semiconductor film by respectively N-doped and P-doped areas. The transistor includes first and second devices for generating a potential barrier in the semiconductor film. The two potential barriers are shifted laterally and are opposed to the passage of the charge carriers emitted by the nearest source/drain electrode. One of the devices for generating the potential barrier is electrically connected to the gate. The other of the devices for generating the potential barrier is electrically connected to the counter-electrode. The writing of a high state is carried out by imposing on the P-doped electrode a potential higher than that of the N-doped electrode and charging the capacitor formed between the gate and the semiconductor film. The resetting of the memory cell is obtained by discharging the capacitor.

  • Patent number: 8633198
Abstract: Antiviral compositions and methods are contemplated that are especially effective in the treatment and prevention of influenza A viruses. Also presented are cellular assays to identify small molecule compounds having antiviral properties, particularly as it relates to detection of influenza A RNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity in a mammalian cell independent of other influenza A components. Preferred assays allow for identification of viral replication inhibitors that do not disrupt normal cellular activity.

  • Patent number: 8634162
Abstract: A magnetic write head for data recording having a magnetic write pole with a stepped magnetic shell structure that defines a secondary flare point. The secondary flare point defined by the magnetic shell portion can be more tightly controlled with respect to its distance from the air bearing surface (ABS) of the write head than can a traditional flare point that is photolithographically on the main pole structure. This allows the effective flare point of the write head to be moved much closer to the ABS than would otherwise be possible using currently available tooling and photolithography techniques. The write head may also include a magnetic trailing shield that wraps around the main pole portion. The trailing shield can have a hack edge defining a trailing shield throat height that is either between the secondary flare point or coincident or behind the secondary flare point, depending on design requirements.

  • Patent number: 8634428
Abstract: The present invention includes a method, a system, and a computer readable medium for establishing a connection between hosts in a computer network with the connection configured for symmetrical forward and reverse routing. The method uses the following steps. First, a first host local routing table to route a packet from a first host to a first gateway according to a routing protocol. Next, the first gateway local routing table routes the packet from the first gateway to a first access router. After that, a first access router local routing table routes the packet from the first access router to a second access router. Then, a second access router local routing table routes the packet from the second access router to a second gateway. Finally, a second gateway local routing table routes the packet from the second gateway router to a second host.

  • Publication number: 20140019438
Abstract: A digital publishing platform enables users to create and organize notes associated with electronic, published documents. Sets of notes, each associated with a document, are uploaded to the publishing platform by notepad applications executing on user devices. Each set of notes has one or more notes, and each note includes a link to a location in the associated document. The publishing platform is configured to index sets of notes based on keywords of the notes, which may be identified based on content of the publication at the location with which notes are associated.

  • Publication number: 20140013813
Abstract: A sealed push button latch. It includes a housing with an upper cavity and a lower cavity and a rim which provides a seal contact seat. The lower cavity has a latch opening formed therein at a first side thereof, and at least one drain/return clip aperture formed at a second side thereof. A push button with a keyed lock is slidably received in the upper cavity. A biasing device biases the push button to a closed position. A seal positioned on the push button provides sealing between the seal contact seat of the rim of the housing and the push button. A locking latch is slidably positioned in the lower cavity, and is slidably movable between a protruding position through the latch opening, and a retracted position, wherein pushing the push button down into the housing retracts the locking latch into the lower cavity.

  • Publication number: 20140019754
Abstract: A distributed communication and data sharing system that provides anonymity and unlinkability. A group comprising a number of structures, each having a public/private key pair, is stored on a plurality of nodes in a Distributed Hash Table. Advantageous features of the group management system are provided through the use of Cryptographically Generated Addresses (CGA) for the structures, a secure capture method that enables a user to capture an address and be the only one authorized to request certain operations for the address, and an anonymous get/set mechanism in which a user signs messages, encloses the public key in the message and encrypts the message and public key using the public key of the receiver. The distributed communication and data sharing system of the invention can advantageously be used for group management of social networks.
