    Abstract: A method for detecting cardiac arrhythmia based on a photoplethysmographic (PPG) signal is provided. The method includes: receiving a PPG signal and a motion signal corresponding to a motion made by a user; extracting PPG signal segments and motion signal segments corresponding to a time period from the PPG signal and the motion signal, respectively, at every time period; filtering out motion artifact noise in the PPG signal segments according to the PPG signal segments and the motion signal segments, and converting the PPG signal segments and the motion signal segments into PPG spectrum diagrams and motion spectrum diagrams, respectively; obtaining an estimated heart rate according to the PPG spectrum diagrams and the motion spectrum diagrams; and determining whether cardiac arrhythmia is present based on the filtered PPG signal segments and the estimated heart rate.

An electrical contact is on one or both of the source region and the drain region. The electrical contact has a larger portion in contact with a top surface of the active material and a smaller portion extending through the layer of active material into the base.     Abstract: A biodegradable metal alloy for anchoring detached tissue to hard tissue, a method for making the same and a process for using the same are revealed. The biodegradable metal alloy includes a magnesium-zinc-zirconium (Mg—Zn—Zr) alloy and a magnesium fluoride (MgF2) coating over the Mg—Zn—Zr alloy. The Mg—Zn—Zr alloy is a magnesium alloy containing 2.5-6.0 wt % zinc (Zn) and 0.42-0.80 wt % zirconium (Zr). Thereby the present biodegradable metal alloy not only provides sufficient fixation strength for anchoring detached tissue to hard tissue effectively but also promotes the bone growth and avoids metal/alloy artifacts in images.

    Abstract: Digital image completion using deep learning is described. Initially, a digital image having at least one hole is received. This holey digital image is provided as input to an image completer formed with a framework that combines generative and discriminative neural networks based on learning architecture of the generative adversarial networks. From the holey digital image, the generative neural network generates a filled digital image having hole-filling content in place of holes. The discriminative neural networks detect whether the filled digital image and the hole-filling digital content correspond to or include computer-generated content or are photo-realistic. The generating and detecting are iteratively continued until the discriminative neural networks fail to detect computer-generated content for the filled digital image and hole-filling content or until detection surpasses a threshold difficulty.
