Abstract: Integrated circuit (IC) protections that prevent exposure or examination of integrated circuitry through backside analysis include a layer or mesh of an electrically conductive, electromagnetic radiation blocking material disposed over a backside of an IC device to prevent backside analysis. An electrically conductive conduit couples the material to a node of the integrated circuitry to provide a signal and/or voltage reference to the node through the layer/mesh. If the layer/mesh is tampered with, the integrated circuitry loses the voltage reference or signal thereby disabling the integrated circuitry. The IC device may include detection circuitry to monitor the node and to generate an alert and/or disable the circuitry upon tampering. The IC device may further include a support substrate, where a substrate between the material/mesh and the integrated circuitry is sufficiently thin that the IC device would be mechanically weak if the support substrate were removed.

  • Publication number: 20240143928
Abstract: The automated generation of a natural language explanation of what code does. The code is structured to perform tasks because the code itself semantically specifies that those tasks are to be performed. A task-centric representation of the code is automatically generated that includes a task representation of each of some or all of the tasks to be performed as specified by the code. Natural language utterances are then automatically generated by generating a corresponding natural language utterance that semantically describes in natural language the corresponding task represented by the corresponding task representation. Controls are rendered for each natural language utterance that each permit a user to edit the corresponding natural language utterance. After editing, the code itself may be automatically modified or regenerated to reflect the changed natural language utterances.

  • Publication number: 20240145426
Abstract: A bonding structure and a power device. The bonding structure includes a first power unit and at least two bonding wires. At least one end of the bonding wire is connected to the first power unit through bonding. Projections that are of lead paths of the at least two bonding wires and that are on a preset plane have at least one intersection point. Spatial cross wire bonding is performed on the bonding wires, so that lead paths of the bonding wires form an angle with each other, thereby weakening electromagnetic force between the bonding wires. Therefore, fatigue due to fluctuating stress of the bonding wires can be alleviated, service lives of the bonding wires can be prolonged, and bonding effect can be ensured to a maximum extent.

  • Publication number: 20240144688
Abstract: An automated checkout system accesses an image of an item inside a shopping cart and a location of the shopping cart within a store. The automated checkout system identifies a set of candidate items located within a threshold distance of the location of the shopping cart based on an item map. The item map describes a location of each item within the store and the location of each candidate item corresponds to a location of the candidate item on the item map. The automated checkout system inputs visual features of the item extracted from the image to a machine-learning model to identify the item by determining a similarity score between the item and each candidate item of the set of candidate items. After identifying the item, the automated checkout system displays a list comprising the item and additional items within the shopping cart to a user.

  • Publication number: 20240143759
Abstract: Backup data is leveraged to determine whether primary data has been encrypted by malware. The disclosed approach does not rely on recognizing particular malware instances or malware provenance, and thus can be applied to any body of data. Even a novel and previously unknown malware attack can be detected in this way. An illustrative data storage management system analyzes secondary copies it created over time, applies a multi-factor analysis to data recovered from the secondary copies and, based on the analysis, infers whether the primary data from which the secondary copies were created may be encrypted. The present approach uses successive versions of backup copies to find indicia of malware encryption, rather than trying to trace or identify the malware itself. Indicia of entropy correlate highly with encryption, such as encryption performed by malware attacks. Conversely, indicia of similarity correlate highly with lack of encryption of successive versions of documents.

  • Publication number: 20240145583
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a SONOS memory discloses forming first a thin oxide layer as a sidewall protection layer and a blocking layer. This layer prevents the high dielectric-constant layer at the bottom of the stacked gate structure from being exposed on the surface. An lightly doped drain (LDD) implantation area is defined by a lateral thickness of a thin oxide layer, so that the channel width may be controlled by controlling the thickness of the thin oxide layer. Thus, the width of a current channel at the bottom of a gate is reduced under the same ion implantation condition into the active area, thereby improving a current capacity of the SONOS memory without adding any mask or photolithography step, and thus bring no additional patterning costs or active area ion implantation costs.
