  • Publication number: 20080291945
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that facilitate generation and detection of synchronization channels in a wireless communication system. A one-to-one relationship is established among a set of scrambling codes (SCs) and a set of primary synchronization channel (P-SCH) sequences which are determined by a reusable sector identifier that is determined through detection of the P-SCH channel. The set of scrambling codes are utilized to (i) scramble a secondary synchronization channel sequence which facilitates detection of the S-SCH sequence once the reusable sector identifier is detected, or (ii) compose an unscrambled S-SCH sequence through a sequential or interleaved concatenation of SCs wherein a concatenation indication is received in a mobile terminal. Cyclic shifts and sign-flip operations applied to a base sequence are employed to generate SCs. A lookup table and a library of SCs facilitate scrambling code determination in a mobile terminal that receives associated P-SCH and S-SCH sequences.

  • Publication number: 20080286916
Abstract: Methods of stressing a channel of a transistor with a replaced gate and related structures are disclosed. A method may include providing an intrinsically stressed material over the transistor including a gate thereof; removing a portion of the intrinsically stressed material over the gate; removing at least a portion of the gate, allowing stress retained by the gate to be transferred to the channel; replacing (or refilling) the gate with a replacement gate; and removing the intrinsically stressed material. Removing and replacing the gate allows stress retained by the original gate to be transferred to the channel, with the replacement gate maintaining (memorizing) that situation. The methods do not damage the gate dielectric.

  • Publication number: 20080283962
Abstract: A pedestal is formed out of the pad layer such that two edges of the pedestal coincide with a border of the wells as implanted. An extended pedestal is formed over the pedestal by depositing a conformal dielectric layer. The area of the extended pedestal is exposed the semiconductor surface below is recessed to a recess depth. Other trenches including at least one intra-well isolation trench are lithographically patterned. After a reactive ion etch, both an inter-well isolation trench and at least one intra-well isolation trench are formed. The width of the inter-well isolation trench may be reduced due to the deeper bottom surface compared to the prior art structures. The boundary between the p-well and the n-well below the inter-well isolation structure is self-aligned to the middle of the inter-well isolation structure.

  • Patent number: 7454292
Abstract: A system and method using inverse-vector processing to iterate through a loop of three steps: set a guide direction, invert opposite vectors, and average vectors to update the guide direction, for smoothing seismic amplitude data. The inverse-vector method can overcome instabilities where the traditional structure-tensor approach fails. The inverse-vector smoothing is simple to implement and more computational efficient. The resultant dips and azimuths are spatially consistent and thus more interpretable and suitable for calculation of curvature and other dip based attributes.
