Abstract: HARQ parameters (e.g., maximum HARQ retransmission values) may be adapted. Cross-layer control and/or logical channel control may be used to select a maximum number of HARQ retransmissions, for example based on packet priority and/or QCI values. Respective priorities of video packets may be used to select one of a plurality of logical channels associated with a video application that may be established at a source wireless hop and/or a destination wireless hop. The logical channels have different HARQ characteristics. Different maximum HARQ retransmission values may be determined for select logical channels, for example such that packets of different priorities may be transmitted over different logical channels. One or more of the channels may be associated with one or more transmission queues that may have different priority designations. Video packets may be reordered (e.g., with respect to transmission order) within the transmission queues, for example in accordance with respective HARQ parameters.

Abstract: Techniques for remote interactions with devices, such as charging, communications, and user interaction, are provided. Specifically, systems and methods to provide charging of devices, such as, remote charging by photovoltaic (PV) cells, infrared (IR) illumination, audio signals, and LEDs such as laser LEDs to charge devices such as watches, jewelry, car panels, headphones and phones, are presented.

Abstract: An improved process for making bioderived propylene glycol from a feed composition including at least one of lactic acid, glycerol, a five carbon sugar, a five carbon sugar alcohol, a six carbon sugar and a six carbon sugar alcohol, wherein production of four carbon and higher diols is reduced by adding base after the initiation of the reaction. In preferred embodiments, the process pH and other process conditions are initially established at targeted values for obtaining the highest conversion for a given catalyst consistent with the production of substantially no pentanediol byproducts in the product mixture, and base is added thereafter to control the process pH proximate to the initially targeted value.

Abstract: A design method for a curved display panel and a curved display device are is provided. The curved display panel comprises a curved thin film transistor array substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a curved color filter substrate, and a spacer assembly. The spacer assembly is used to maintain a predetermined distance between the curved thin film transistor array substrate and the curved color filter substrate. A display defect caused by an uneven cell thickness of the curved display panel is avoided.

The circuit includes a driving module and a resetting module connected to a reference voltage line for providing an initial potential and a reset-control potential, a scanning signal line, and the driving module. Abstract: A method for optimizing throughput of a network with stations adapted to transmit data to an access point includes the step of determining a respective required throughput for each station based on: respective time periods required for decreasing a count of a respective back-off counter associated with each of the stations, a transmission packet length of the respective station, and a probability of successful transmission for of the respective station. The respective required throughput so determined is a function of a respective transmission attempt rate for the station. The method further includes the step of determining the respective transmission attempt rate for each station for maximizing a sum of the respective required throughput such that a respective fixed throughput is provided for inelastic data flow in the network, a respective proportional throughput ratio is provided for elastic data flow in the network, and the throughput of the network is maximized.

Abstract: A backlight module and a display device are disclosed, which relate to the field of display technology and overcome the problem of poor heat dissipation effect of the whole display device. The backlight module comprises a backplane, a light source component fixed to the backplane, and a first heat dissipation layer at least arranged in part of the overlapping zone for the backplane and the light source component. The display device comprises a display panel and the backlight module mentioned above, and the backlight module provided by the embodiment is applied in the display device.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for guard band utilization for synchronous and asynchronous communications in wireless networks. A user equipment (UE) or a network component transmits symbols on data bands assigned for primary communications. The data bands are separated by a guard band having smaller bandwidth than the data bands. The UE or network component further modulates symbols for secondary communications with a spectrally contained wave form, which has a smaller bandwidth than the guard band. The spectrally contained wave form is achieved with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation or with joint OFDM and Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (OQAM) modulation. The modulated symbols for the secondary communications are transmitted within the guard band.

Abstract: The application discloses a color filter substrate, an array substrate, a display panel and a display device. The color filter substrate comprises a first base substrate and a plurality of pixel units provided above the first base substrate, each of the pixel units comprising color filters of various colors; from a pixel unit close to a first side of the first base substrate towards a pixel unit close to a second side of the first base substrate opposite to the first side, a ratio of an area of a color filter of a specific color to that of any one of color filters of other colors is increased gradually. In the application, the color filter of the specific color is able to compensate for the color shift of the light guide plate, alleviating the color shift of the display device, and thereby improving the image quality of the display device.
