Abstract: Apparatus and method for providing and receiving media programming information including providing programming package information comprising attributes of a package of media presentation channels. Further, a subscription characteristic is defined that determines an ability subscribe to the package and to present the programming package information on a device. The device operates to compare the subscription characteristic with device-related subscription information. A subscription is allowed and/or the programming package information is presented on the device based on a predetermined relationship between the subscription characteristic and the device subscription information.

Abstract: A method for carrying different types of broadcast services over a first mobile broadcast network that carries a first type of service content may include adapting a second type of service content, different from the first type of service content, for transport over the first mobile broadcast network, adapting service bootstrapping information, and mapping service layer addresses to data flow addresses of the first mobile broadcast network. On the receiver side, a broadcast flow address for service bootstrapping information may be discovered, the service bootstrapping information acquired from the discovered broadcast flow address, service layer addresses may be obtained from the bootstrapping information, and service components of the second type of service content acquired from the broadcast network.

Abstract: A coated article includes a metallic substrate, a fiber layer directly formed on the metallic substrate, and an enamel layer directly formed on the fiber layer. The enamel layer mainly contains silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, sodium oxide, potassium oxide, and fiber reinforced composite. A method for making the coated article is also described.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for sampling usage information from a pool of terminals in a data network. In an aspect, a method is provided that includes determining a designated set of terminals, and transmitting tracking parameters to the designated set of terminals, wherein the tracking parameters identify at least one upload window. In an aspect, an apparatus is provided that includes provisioning logic configured to determine one or more tracking parameters that identify at least one upload window, and targeting logic configured to determine a designated set of terminals, and to transmit tracking parameters to the designated set of terminals. In another aspect, a method is provided for performing usage tracking. The method includes receiving tracking parameters that identify at least one upload window, performing usage tracking according to the tracking parameters to produce a tracking log, and transmitting the tracking log during the at least one upload window.

Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a high side driver and a low side driver. The low side driver is electrically coupled with the high side driver. A circuit is electrically coupled with the high side driver and a first node between the high side driver and the low side driver. The circuit is configured to substantially turn off the high side driver if the high side driver leaves a cutoff region of the high side driver during a tri-state mode.

Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate providing software upgrade notifications to user devices that utilize unicast and multicast communication techniques in a wireless communication environment. Bandwidth and power consumption is minimized by permitting determination to be made regarding whether a given software update is relevant to the user device prior to attempting a download or receiving a notification thereof. Additionally, evaluation of version number and software identity facilitates determining whether to employ a unicast software check-up protocol or a multicast software check-up protocol. Software upgrade information may also be transmitted over a multicast channel for a predetermined time period, after which a user device may initiate a unicast check-up protocol to receive software upgrade information.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, method, and article to process a chroma motion vector are described. The apparatus may include a video decoder. The video decoder includes a processor to receive a compressed video bitstream. The compressed video bitstream includes a stream of pictures. The stream of pictures includes a current slice and a current block within the slice. The processor pre-computes a chroma motion vector adjustment parameter for the current slice and determines a motion vector component for the current block within the current slice using the pre-computed chroma motion vector adjustment parameter. The device can establish a cache depth upon initiation of the subscription service. The device can provide an interface to select a cache depth. The cache depth can be the number of presentations the device will maintain on the device at a given time.

Abstract: A system and a method for calibrating an ambient light sensor (ALS) are disclosed. The ALS, an adjustable resistor and a switch are located on a first surface of a printed circuit board (PCB), and the adjustable resistor and the switch are connected in series between an adjustable probe of the ALS and the ground. A resistor is connected between two pads located on a second surface of the PCB via two probes touching the pads. A controller connected to the PCB reads a light sensitivity of the ALS and calculates a calculated resistance value of the adjustable resistor by a formula “detected light sensitivity/resistance value of the resistor=objective light sensitivity/resistance value of the adjustable resistor”, wherein the objective light sensitivity and the resistance value of the resistor are given.

Abstract: A service for Public Safety (PS) and Law Enforcement (LE) users on commercial wireless networks which assure them access to packet data services. The service request is application based. The applications that are for official use, by the PS/LE users, could have a reserved priority level associated with them. The reserved priority level could be higher than a normal commercial user. The network could use the priority to distinguish users, and dynamically allocate and optimize network resources. The network could use priority level information to perform access, admission, and congestion control. The PS/LE user could use the official applications while on duty and un-official ones while off duty, thus, additionally freeing up network resources. The PS/LE users could then use advanced commercial packet data services, without the need for a private network, while at the same time making it feasible for commercial networks.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus simultaneously hosting multiple service providers on a network. A method is provided for hosting multiple service providers in a data network. The method includes controlling access to services offered by one or more service providers, and discovering affiliation provisions associated with a device, wherein the affiliation provisions are associated with one or more selected service providers. The method also includes filtering the services according to the affiliation provisions to generate a package database of services offered by the one or more selected service providers, and transmitting the package database to the device.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a neural induction medium comprising Wnt-signal agonist, TGF?-signal inhibitor and FGF-signal agonist for inducing neural differentiation. The neural induction medium used in a culture system is capable for inducing the neural differentiation of stem cells into neuroepithelial cells which are useful for the clinical applications. Therein, the neuroepithelial cells can further differentiate into mature neurons for the practical applications including regeneration medicine and drug discovery for neural disorders.

Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate automatically configuring femtocells based at least in part on signals transmitted by other femtocells and macrocells. In particular, a femtocell can receive signals from neighboring cells, much like a mobile device, and determine communications parameters used. The parameters can be channel identifiers, pseudo-noise (PN) offsets, and the like. The femtocell can subsequently configure its communication parameters to vary from those detected in the neighboring signals, or to match those of neighboring signals where the parameters relate to the communications environment, for example. Thus, the femtocell self-configures to mitigate interference with surrounding femtocells and/or macrocells.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for treating wounds and for accelerating the healing of wounds by administering an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition containing type VII collagen protein, mini-C7 protein, variants thereof or any combinations thereof. The pharmaceutical composition may be administered through a variety of routes including intravenous injection, topical application, or oral ingestion. The method may further include administering a genetically modified fibroblast capable of expressing type VII collagen protein, mini-C7 protein, variants thereof or small growth factors to achieve synergistic healing effect.

Abstract: The present invention relates to newly identified nucleic acid molecules and polypeptides present in normal and neoplastic ovarian cells, including fragments, variants and derivatives of the nucleic acids and polypeptides. The present invention also relates to antibodies to the polypeptides of the invention, as well as agonists and antagonists of the polypeptides of the invention. The invention also relates to compositions containing the nucleic acid molecules, polypeptides, antibodies, agonists and antagonists of the invention and methods for the use of these compositions. These uses include identifying, diagnosing, monitoring, staging, imaging and treating ovarian cancer and non-cancerous disease states in ovarian, identifying ovarian tissue, monitoring and identifying and/or designing agonists and antagonists of polypeptides of the invention. Abstract: A method of providing content notifications to devices in a wireless communication system includes obtaining notification information comprising an identifier that defines a subset of a plurality of devices on a network configured to be responsive to content notifications; generating a notification message based on the obtained notification information to cause the subset of the plurality of devices to retrieve content from a network; and broadcasting the notification message over the network to the plurality of devices. The method also includes receiving content notifications in a wireless communication system, including receiving, in a wireless network, a notification message comprising an identifier that defines a subset of a plurality of devices on a network configured to be responsive to content notifications; and retrieving content from a network in response to being one of the subset of the plurality of devices as defined by the identifier of the received notification message.
