Abstract: An example method of integrating a plurality of heterogeneous peer-to-peer communication participants includes retrieving from a first input queue coupled to a duplex service a first message. The first message includes a message identifier and is from a sender. The method also includes applying a first operation on the first message, determining a first output of the first message based on the first operation, and sending the first output of the first message to a target. The method further includes retrieving from a second input queue coupled to the duplex service a second message. The second message includes the message identifier and is from a target. The method also includes applying a second operation on the second message, determining a second output of the second message based on the second operation, and sending the second output of the second message to the sender.

Abstract: An example method for routing a message in a dynamic service mesh includes receiving at a mesh point a first message from a sender service and determining, based on a routing table, whether the mesh point has previously received a second message from the sender service. When the mesh point is determined to not have received the second message from the sender service, the first message is routed to a target service in the dynamic service mesh. The method includes receiving an indication of whether the first message has been accepted by the target service and updating the routing table based on the indication. When the indication indicates that the first message has been rejected by the target service, the first message is routed from the mesh point to a second target service.

Abstract: A multi-resolution foveated laparoscope (MRFL) addresses a number of the clinical limitations described in the background section. The MRFL technology can (1) simultaneously obtain both wide-angle- and high-magnification images of a surgical area in real-time in a single, fully integrated scope, (2) yield ultra-high spatial resolution which is over 3 times better than a standard laparoscope (SL) at a close-up working distance, (3) automatically scan and engage the high-magnification imaging probe to any sub-region of the surgical field through region-of-interest (ROI) tracking capabilities, (4) vary the optical magnification of the high-resolution imaging probe without the need of physically advancing or withdrawing the scope, (5) maintain a low-length profile, optimized for operating at a long working distance (WD), providing both superb spatial awareness and high-magnification views simultaneously.

Abstract: A system for data processing with management of a cache consistency in a network of processors including cache memories, the network including plural nodes for access to a main memory interconnected with one another, a set of directories being distributed between nodes of the network, each directory including a table of correspondence between cache lines and information fields on the cache lines. The system includes a first sub-network for interconnection of the nodes with one another, implementing a first message transmission protocol providing read/write access to the directories during any passage in the corresponding nodes of a message passing through the first sub-network, and a second sub-network for interconnection of the nodes with one another, implementing a second message transmission protocol, the second protocol excluding any read/write access to the directories during any passage in the corresponding nodes of a message passing through the second sub-network.

Abstract: Methods, computer-readable media, and apparatuses are disclosed for storing and utilizing state information for service providers. In one aspect of the invention, the methods, processes, or apparatus may include one or more of the following steps: 1) storing state information on a vault; 2) requesting state information on the vault from a receiving party and a device and providing identification to the vault; 3) authenticating and certifying the request from the receiving party; 4) providing the state information to the receiving party; 5) using the state information on the device; and 6) returning the state information to the vault. An additional aspect of the invention provides a method and/or process for storing and utilizing web-based cookies on a cloud environment for service providers.

Abstract: A watercraft having a changeable hull structure. More particularly, a watercraft having a first subassembly and one or more second subassemblies. The first subassembly includes a sponson, a flooring, and a transom, the one or more second subassemblies, each being a replaceable hull structure. The first subassembly and each of the one or more second subassemblies have commensurate shapes allowing for attachment and/or replacement of the one or more replaceable hull structures. The watercraft also includes one or more elongated connectors are used to attach the first and second subassemblies.

Abstract: Embodiments of electrostatic chucks for substrate processing are provided herein. In some embodiments, an electrostatic chuck may include a puck for supporting a substrate, the puck formed from a dielectric material and having a chucking electrode disposed within the puck proximate a support surface of the puck to electrostatically retain the substrate when disposed on the puck; a base having a ring extending from the base to support the puck; and a spacer disposed between the base and the puck to support the puck above the base such that a gap is formed between the puck and the base, wherein the spacer supports the puck proximate a peripheral edge of the puck.

Abstract: An Internet use profile is created by a parent or guardian of an Internet user via a client-side software application at the user's computer. The use profile is submitted via the Internet to an intelligent network component. The use profile sets the duration for Internet use in general and sets the duration for access to particular Internet sites such as chat rooms, shopping sites, etc. The use profile is stored locally on the user's computer and remotely at the intelligent network component. When the user attempts to log on to the Internet via her Internet service provider, the client-side application verifies that the user computer has not already exceeded allowed Internet connection time in a previous Internet connection. If not, the connection to the Internet is allowed. After the connection is established, an Internet usage monitoring and controlling application at the intelligent network component monitors the time of connection between the user computer and the Internet.

Abstract: A decompression panel for use in a door of an aircraft disclosed herein includes bi-directional latching mechanisms. A differential pressure sensor disengages upon a decompression event in a compartment of an aircraft, allowing latch hooks to disengage from a panel latch of the decompression panel. Once disengaged, the decompression panel can rotate to vent air in a compartment of higher pressure to the compartment experiencing the decompression event.

Abstract: A composition of matter comprises a shelf stable, super critical, CO2 fluid extracted seed oil derived from a cracked biomass of perilla frutescens, the seed oil comprising from about 60 to about 95 percent w/w of PUFAs in a ratio of from about 4:1 to about 6:1 alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) to linoleic acid (LA) and a mixture of selected antioxidants.

Abstract: A system is disclosed to automatically establish proper biasing for light sources in a color mixed projection system having multiple light sources which are active at the same time. Responsive to a feedback signal, a single DC-DC converter generates the bias voltage for the light sources. Comparators compare a headroom signal for each light source to a reference value to generate comparator output signals. The comparator output signals are processed by a channel selector and a digital filter/DAC module. The channel selector controls a switch to selectively provide and combine a headroom signal with an output of the digital filter/DAC module to create the feedback signal. By monitoring each headroom value, the bias voltage is adjusted, based on the feedback signal, until every headroom signal reaches the reference value thereby achieving sufficient biasing for every active light source in the color mixed projection system.

The method is performed on a server system having one or more processors and memory storing one or more programs for execution by the one or more processors. The server system receives, from a client system, media information associated with media content displayed on a display associated with the client system. The server system then analyzes the received media information to determine one or more keywords associated with the media information. The server system retrieves one or more facts based on the one or more determined keywords. The server system then automatically generates a quiz question based on the one or more retrieved facts. The server system then transmits the generated quiz question to the client system for display.

Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided herein to enable VTL backup and retrieval over S3 storage technology. An embodiment method includes mapping a plurality of data blocks for VTL storage into a plurality of S3 objects for S3 storage, and storing the S3 objects at one or more locations for S3 storage over one or more networks, wherein the mapping enables stateless backup and restore of the data blocks. An embodiment network component includes a Small Computer System Interface configured to receive a plurality of data blocks form one or more servers, a data library storage including tape storage, disk storage, or both that is configured to store the data blocks, a blocks-to-objects mapping engine configured to map the data blocks into a plurality of S3 objects, and a S3 interface configured to transfer the S3 objects to one or more locations for S3 storage over one or more networks.

At least one of the plural DPUs provides a switching signal to the receivers to switch the state of the active receiver to standby and the state of the standby receiver to active as a function of a quality measurement of the received data stream via the traffic channel.

Abstract: The volume of a hyperinflated lung compartment is reduced by sealing a distal end of the catheter in an airway feeding the lung compartment. Air passes out of the lung compartment through a passage in the catheter while the patient exhales. A one-way flow element associated with the catheter prevents air from re-entering the lung compartment as the patient inhales. Over time, the pressure of regions surrounding the lung compartment cause it to collapse as the volume of air diminishes. Residual volume reduction effectively results in functional lung volume expansion. Optionally, the lung compartment may be sealed in order to permanently prevent air from re-entering the lung compartment. The invention further discloses a catheter with a transparent occlusion element at its tip that enables examination of the lung passageway through a viewing scope.
