In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may configure sidelink control information (SCI) to indicate a plurality of sidelink transmission opportunities that are to be reserved for the UE. Abstract: Aspects of the invention include training an optimal interpretable decision tree for regression using mixed-integer linear programming techniques. A non-limiting example computer-implemented method includes receiving, using a processor, input data that includes time-series data. The method further includes training, using a binary mixed-integer linear program of the processor, an ODT for regression based on the input data. During the training process one or more outliers are filtered out by a linear loss model that minimizes training loss and outlier loss.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may select, in a first time slot, a set of resources to use for transmission to another UE; evaluate, in a second time slot, whether one or more resources of the set of resources is available; and transmit, based on the one or more resources of the set of resources being available, information to the other UE in a third time slot and using the set of resources, or reselect, based on the one or more resources of the set of resources being unavailable, another resource for transmission of the information to the other UE. Abstract: Systems and methods for registering arbitrary visual features for use as fiducial elements are disclosed. An example method includes aligning a geometric reference object and a visual feature and capturing an image of the reference object and feature. The method also includes identifying, in the image of the object and the visual feature, a set of at least four non-colinear feature points in the visual feature. The method also includes deriving, from the image, a coordinate system using the geometric object. The method also comprises providing a set of measures to each of the points in the set of at least four non-colinear feature points using the coordinate system. The measures can then be saved in a memory to represent the registered visual feature and serve as the basis for using the registered visual feature as a fiducial element.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are provided to securely and wirelessly connect a medical device to a controller or smartphone with medical device control app, and to wirelessly connect the controller or smartphone with medical device control app to other devices providing additional integrated disease management (IDM) functions. At least two different wireless communication protocols are used depending on level of security needed, with greater security needed for exchange of medical device control operation commands and related data between the medical device and its controller or smartphone with medical device control app to avoid nefarious or unintended changes in medical device control. Exchanges of historical data or notifications relating to the medical device and requiring less security can be transmitted to the controller and/or the smartphone or other IDM devices using a different and more commonly used wireless communication protocol that may afford less security.

Abstract: A modular 3D printer system can include a base subsystem and multiple exchangeable components. The base subsystem can have a 3D motion module, a printhead module and a platform module. The multiple exchangeable components can include printheads having different configurations and functionalities, which can be exchangeably installed in the printhead module. The multiple exchangeable components can include platform supports having different configurations and functionalities, which can be exchangeably installed in the platform module.

Abstract: A system compares two network security specifications expected to implement the same network security policy for a network and identifies possible discrepancies between them. The system generates a representation of relations between subnetworks of the network for each network security specification. The representation efficiently stores permitted connections between subnetworks. The system compares the representations corresponding to the two network security specifications to identify discrepancies across the two network security specifications. If discrepancies are identified across the two network security specifications the system generating a report identifying the discrepancies.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for intelligent casting of social media creators includes receiving, from a provider of goods or services, a request to match a social media post topic with a social media creator among a plurality of social media creators, accessing a database comprising a plurality of social media posts by the plurality of social media creators, analyzing each social media post among the plurality of social media posts, selecting a predetermined number of social media creators among the plurality of social media creators according a best match of the request to one or more attributes of each social media creator among the plurality of social media creators and the analysis of the plurality of social media posts, and returning a list of the selected social media creators.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods, systems and computer program products that enable generating a shift handover report for display. The invention comprises (i) receiving a plurality of operator shift reports, (ii) parsing data from the received operator shift reports, and selecting a set of shift report data from the parsed data, wherein the selection is based at least on output received from a decision engine that is configured to (a) receive one or more of text data, tabular data, image data, audio data or video data, parsed the operator shift reports, and (b) output a score indicating suitability of shift report data corresponding to the input data, for inclusion within a shift handover report, (iii) generating and storing a shift handover report comprising the selected set of shift report data, and (iv) displaying the generated shift handover report comprising the selected set of shift report data.

Abstract: Methods for compressing shape data for a set of electronic designs include inputting a set of shape data, where the shape data comprises mask designs. A convolutional autoencoder encodes the set of shape data, where the encoding compresses the set of shape data to produce a set of encoded shape data. The convolutional autoencoder is tuned for increased accuracy of the set of encoded shape data based on design rules for the set of shape data. The convolutional autoencoder comprises a set of parameters comprising weights, and the convolutional autoencoder has been trained to determine what information to keep based on the weights.

Abstract: A window assembly for installing in a window framing (also referred to as a “window casing”) of a wall of a building. The window assembly is configured to have a frameless appearance when installed with the finish surround installed around the interior and/or exterior of the window. The window assembly also allows the glass panel to be removed with a minimum of removal of the finish surround, such as without removing any of the finish surround, or only removing the finish surround around several sides of the only one of the interior or exterior of the window. For example, in most cases, only the interior finish surround around the right side and left side of the installed window frame needs to be removed to remove and replace the glass panel. Furthermore, the window assembly includes an integrated drain for draining moisture which leaks into the window assembly.

Abstract: An optical scanning system, including: a radiating source that outputs a light beam, a first time varying beam reflector that reflects the light beam through a scan lens towards a transparent sample, a second time varying beam reflector that reflects the light beam reflected from the transparent sample, a focusing lens that focuses the light beam reflected from the transparent sample, a blocker, and a detector that is irradiated by the one or more selectable portions of the light beam reflected from the transparent sample that pass the blocker. The blocker can be configured to block one or more portions of the light beam reflected from the transparent sample so that one or more selectable portions of the light beam reflected from the transparent sample can pass the blocker.

Abstract: A method of propping created fractures and microfractures in tight formation. The method includes injecting into a wellbore a first pad fluid stage; injecting into the wellbore a second pad fluid stage; injecting into the wellbore a diverting agent; and injecting into the wellbore a main proppant slurry stage; wherein the first pad fluid stage includes an aqueous-based fluid at a rate above the fracturing gradient to create a fracture, wherein the second pad fluid stage includes an aqueous-based fluid and a low concentration of a proppant mixture including a slurry of small proppant materials and/or a slurry of conventional proppant materials to extend the fracture and open up secondary induced fractures, and wherein the main proppant slurry stage includes an aqueous-based fluid and a proppant with a larger size than the small proppant particles in the second pad fluid stage.

Abstract: In cancers such as prostate cancer, the combination of PTEN loss and activation of Myc activates an adaptive stress response that enables tumor cells to escape the stress of massively upregulated protein synthesis. This pro-survival response is mediated by the PERK-phosphorylated eIF2? axis of the UPR adaptive response. Agents that disrupt PERK-eIF2? pathways disrupt the adaptive response and lead to cancer cell death from uncontrolled growth. For example, ISRIB and derivatives may be employed as therapeutic agents to disrupt PERK-mediated adaptive mechanisms. Additionally PTEN loss and activation of Myc provides a diagnostic marker that enables better prognosis and the selection of amenable treatments.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a system for managing inventory as it transitions into a materials handling facility, as it transitions between locations within a materials handling facility and/or as it transitions out of a materials handling facility. In some instances, a total weight associated with a user pattern may be monitored by sensors of a base surface and weight of inventory items may be monitored by sensors at the inventory locations. When a user associated with the user pattern retrieves an item from an inventory location, the decrease in the weight at the inventory location will correspond with the increase in total weight associated with the user pattern. Accordingly, the item may be tracked from the inventory location and associated with the user pattern based on the corresponding changes in weight.

Abstract: A zonal isolation device conveyed into the wellbore with a propped flapper valve. The zonal isolation device comprises a deformable sealing element and a support ring movably disposed within the inner bore of the sealing element. A flapper valve coupled to the support ring is configured to engage a sealing surface of support ring. The flapper valve blocks fluid flow through the zonal isolation device in a fully closed position, allows unrestricted fluid flow through the zonal isolation device in a fully open position, and allows restricted fluid flow through the zonal isolation device when held by a propping component in an intermediate or partially open position. The zonal isolation device is anchored to the wellbore by an anchoring assembly engaged with a wedge coupled to the downhole end of the sealing element.

Abstract: Purification methods and systems for working up a crude vinyl acetate stream containing vinyl acetate monomer, acetic acid, water, ethyl acetate, and other impurities. Crude vinyl acetate streams are purified with an azeotropic distillation tower using a side draw to remove ethyl acetate and water, and a bottom stream to remove acetic acid from the crude vinyl acetate. The methods and systems move the side draw to a location on the azeotropic distillation tower that maintains a constant water concentration in the bottom product of about 4 to about 15 wt. % and forms a vapor side product. A second distillation tower is used to further purify the vapor side product to obtain water, VAM, ethyl acetate and AA. The system provides easier disposal of ethyl acetate, and cleaner water that can be recycled in the reactor or purification sections of a VAM plant and full recovery of AA.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an apparatus for forming a stream of individual packets, comprising a folder arranged to form a tubular web structure, a feeder arranged to feed the formed tubular web structure to a nip; a first rotor comprising a first sealing jaw and a knife, a second rotor comprising a second sealing jaw and an anvil, the sealing jaws, the knife and anvil rotating into opposing relation at the nip so as to form a severed, completed packet beyond the nip. The apparatus includes an open ended packet catcher adjacent the first and second rotors, which is arranged to catch the severed, completed packets beyond the nip whereby a stream of packets is established.
