Abstract: Gas-engine replacement devices described herein include a housing that includes battery receptacle configured to removably receive a battery pack, a motor located within the housing, a power take-off shaft receiving torque from the motor and protruding from a side of the housing, a power switching network configured to selectively provide power from the battery pack to the motor, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor is coupled to the power switching network and configured to receive a current measurement associated with the motor and control the power switching network according to one of a freewheeling mode or a synchronous rectification mode based on the current measurement.

Abstract: A face covering is configured to obscure the nose and the mouth of a wearer. The face covering includes an upper portion including a free lower edge and a lower portion coupled to the upper portion, and the lower portion includes a free upper edge. A gaming server can be configured to communicate with the gaming machine, may establish a remote gaming session between the gaming machine and a user device, and may distribute the portion of the game information to the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for predicting object motion and controlling autonomous vehicles are provided. In one example embodiment, a computer implemented method includes obtaining state data indicative of at least a current or a past state of an object that is within a surrounding environment of an autonomous vehicle. The method includes obtaining data associated with a geographic area in which the object is located. The method includes generating a combined data set associated with the object based at least in part on a fusion of the state data and the data associated with the geographic area in which the object is located. The method includes obtaining data indicative of a machine-learned model. The method includes inputting the combined data set into the machine-learned model. The method includes receiving an output from the machine-learned model. The output can be indicative of a plurality of predicted trajectories of the object.

Abstract: An electric carpet stapler comprises a trigger and switch assembly that has an actuation caused by a change of state of a sensor, which causes the sensor to send a signal to a control circuit to begin a process to supply power to a winding. The trigger and switch assembly includes a trigger that moves in a trigger actuation direction to move a sensor actuator in a sensor actuation direction, causing a change of state in the sensor, which causes the control circuit to begin the process to supply power to the winding. The trigger and switch assembly may also include a toggle. At the actuation of the trigger and switch assembly, the toggle creates a mechanical instability, and a toggle signal to the user, which may be produced mechanically.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and compositions for treating cognitive impairment due to frontotemporal dementia caused by progranulin mutations. More specifically, the invention relates to antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) and their administration to subjects to increase progranulin protein levels in brain tissue, to treat cognitive impairment due to frontotemporal dementia caused by progranulin mutations.

In one approach, a method includes: obtaining, by a gateway, access rules for a networking device; providing, by the gateway, one or more dedicated networking tunnels between the gateway and respective remote gateways to one or more respective network segments, wherein the networking device is authorized to access the one or more network segments by the access rules; and routing, by the gateway, networking packets from the networking device based on source address information in the networking packets to the one or more dedicated networking tunnels, and based on destination address information in the networking packets, routing the networking packets to a selection of the one or more dedicated networking tunnels.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to selecting a sidelink control information (SCI) format for indicating a minimum communication range parameter, where the SCI format is a common format defined for requesting both location-based feedback and signal strength-based feedback. SCI indicating a value for the minimum communication range parameter can be generated based on the SCI format. The SCI indicating the value for the minimum communication range parameter can be transmitted to one or more devices.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a structure comprising a first substrate comprising at least one electronic component likely to be damaged by a temperature higher than 400° C. and a semiconductor layer extending on the first substrate comprises: (a) providing a first bonding metal layer on the first substrate, (b) providing a second substrate comprising successively: a semiconductor base substrate, a stack of a plurality of semiconductor epitaxial layers, a layer of SixGe1-x, with 0?x?1 being located at the surface of said stack opposite to the base substrate, and a second bonding metal layer, (c) bonding the first substrate and the second substrate through the first and second bonding metal layers at a temperature lower than or equal to 400° C., and (d) removing a part of the second substrate so as to transfer the layer of SixGe1-x on the first substrate using a selective etching process.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for increasing recovery, or flowback, of hydrocarbon compounds from hydrocarbon-containing subterranean fractured rock formations (tight shale reservoirs). The flowback compositions include an anionic dimer surfactant, an anionic monomer surfactant, and a demulsifier. The flowback compositions convert oil-wet rocks to water-wet, yet exhibit a low tendency of composition components to sorb to the rock. The flowback compositions do not cause formation of emulsions with hydrocarbon compounds within the subterranean fractured rock formations. The flowback composition are useful for increasing the yield of hydrocarbons recovered from tight shale reservoirs.

Abstract: Improved techniques for dynamically controlling a program flow of a testing application. The testing application administers an exam on a user interface (UI). A state for each question is monitored, where the state includes a viewed, answered, or unviewed state. A question's state changes based on whether interaction is detected for that question. While the testing application is administering the exam, user input triggers a pause to the administration. A popup window is displayed to show a first list of instructions, a second list identifying exam questions having the “viewed” state, and a confirmation UI element. After the confirmation UI element is selected, the UI is modified by occluding the exam questions, by displaying a resume UI element, and by displaying a timing UI element. Later, the testing application continues the test's administration, but restricts access to certain questions.

Abstract: Disclosed here is a method to determine a user intent when a user device initiates an interactive voice response (IVR) call with a wireless telecommunication network. A processor can detect the IVR call initiated with the network and determine whether the user device is a member of the network. Upon determining that the user device is a member of the network, the processor can obtain user history including interaction history between the user and the network. Based on the user history, the processor can predict the user intent when the user initiates the IVR call. The processor can detect whether user device is a 5G capable device. Upon the determining that the device is 5G capable and based on the predicted user intent, the processor can suggest to the user an application configured to execute on the user device and configured to address the predicted user intent.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable for defining host functionalities in a computing environment include obtaining two or more snapshots comprising information pertaining to two or more processes executing in two or more hosts, the two or more snapshots being obtained at two or more points in time from the two or more hosts. One or more long-running processes amongst the two or more processes are identified based on one or more criteria associated with long-running processes. One or more priorities associated with the one or more long-running processes and used for defining functionalities for at least a subset of the two or more hosts, where high priorities are assigned to long-running processes, such as web server or database server processes, which are unique to at least the subset of the two or more hosts. Resources may be provisioned based on these host functionalities.

Abstract: Methods and systems for use in additive manufacturing are described. Methods include heating a precursor material in a mixing area upstream of a print head nozzle. An energy emission is delivered to the precursor material prior to extrusion at the nozzle. The energy emission encouraging reaction of components in the precursor material to form a solid product of the extrudate such as a polymer, a crosslinked polymeric matrix, and/or a particulate. Systems include a mixing area upstream of a nozzle and an energy source configured to deliver an emission into the mixing area at or near the nozzle outlet.
