  • Publication number: 20240337992
Abstract: A computer implemented method for controlling determining an optimization solution for controlling a physical system. An optimization model is formed using an objective function and a set of constraints, a machine learning model that predicts a target value for a target variable for a physical system in response to receiving inputs for input variables for the physical system, and a first principle model that predicts the target value for the target variable for the physical system in response to receiving the inputs for the input variables for the physical system. Set points are determined for the input variables for an extremum for the target value for the target variable in the optimization model using regions in which the set points result in agreement between the target value predicted by the machine learning model and the target value predicted by the first principle model. The set points form the optimization solution.

  • Publication number: 20240331659
Abstract: An apparatus and method for efficiently managing power consumption among multiple, replicated functional blocks of an integrated circuit. An integrated circuit includes multiple, replicated functional blocks that use separate power domains. Data of a given type is stored in an interleaved manner among the multiple functional blocks. When control circuitry detects a low-performance mode, commands are sent to the multiple functional blocks specifying storing data of the given type in a contiguous manner in one or more of the caches of the multiple functional blocks and the memories connected to the multiple functional blocks. Following, the control circuitry transitions the memories to a sleep state and transitions all but one of the functional blocks to the sleep state. The functional blocks rotate amongst themselves with a single functional block being in the active state and servicing requests based on which data of the given type is targeted by the requests.

  • Publication number: 20240334340
Abstract: An apparatus and method for efficiently performing power management for increasing reliable wireless signal transfer performed by mobile computing devices. In various implementations, a computing system includes a network interface and multiple components for processing tasks. The network interface sends, to at least a given component of the multiple components, an indication specifying the corresponding operating frequency ranges used by one or more radio modules used for wireless communication with an access point. The given component determines whether an operating clock frequency of the given component overlaps any of the received operating frequency ranges and associated harmonic frequencies. If so, then the given component changes the operating clock frequency to a frequency that does not overlap any of the received operating frequency ranges and associated harmonic frequencies.

An integrated circuit includes multiple, replicated memories that use separate power domains. Data of a given type is stored in an interleaved manner among the multiple memories. When control circuitry detects an idle state, commands are sent to the multiple memories specifying storing data of the given type in a contiguous manner in the memories connected to multiple functional blocks. Subsequently, the control circuitry transitions all but one of the memories to the sleep state. The memories rotate amongst themselves with a single memory being in the active state and servicing requests based on which data of the given type is targeted by the requests.

  • Patent number: 12102424
Abstract: A breathing monitor that includes a contactless sensor that uses magneto-LC resonance technology is provided. The breathing monitor collects breathing data from a patient that indicates a breathing pattern of the patient. A model trained using machine learning using breathing patterns collected from patients known to have different stages of COVID-19 is used to process the collected breathing data and to determine whether the patient has COVID-19. The model further determines the stage of COVID-19. The breathing monitor can identify likely COVID-19 infections faster than existing tests and requires no contact between the patient and a medical professional, which is an improvement over existing COVID-19 detection technologies.

  • Patent number: 12102426
Abstract: A non-contact respiratory monitoring system comprises a magnetic microwire sensor coil that detects magnetic field changes due to motion of a magnet attached to a patient's chest. Field lines emanating from the magnet are parallel to a circumferential loop area of the coil and the coil is positioned at a distance to magnetically couple to the magnet. Impedance in the coil changes when the distance of the magnet to the coil changes due to the patient's breathing. An alternating voltage across coil is modified by the change in impedance. An impedance analyzer coupled to the coil applies the alternating voltage and measures the impedance changes. A computer system controls operation of impedance analyzer, receives respiratory monitoring information based on the coil's impedance changes from the impedance analyzer, and generates a graphical display of the respiratory monitoring information.

  • Patent number: 12108041
Abstract: A decoder configured to decode residual levels, and sequentially dequantize the residual levels by selecting a quantizer out of a set of default quantizers depending on a current transition state, and updating the current transition state depending on a current residual level's characteristic obtained by an application of a binary function onto the current residual level, and depending on a quantization mode information contained in the data stream. The current transition state transitions, according to a surjective mapping which depends on the quantization mode information, from a domain of combinations of a set of one or more transition states with the current residual level's characteristic onto the set of one or more transition states, wherein a cardinality of the set of one or more transition states differs depending on the quantization mode information.

  • Patent number: 12106386
Abstract: A flexible advance system allows users to request and receive advances. The flexible advance system processes advances such that short-term advances are repaid through a wage deduction from the user's next regularly scheduled compensation period. The flexible advance system provides a user interface that allows users to request to receive compensation for a portion of time worked. Responsive to a request, an entry in a database associated with the user is accessed to determine a total amount of available advance compensation available for request by the user. In response to the requested amount being less than the total amount of available advance compensation, a transfer of compensation is executed to an account of the user. The flexible advance system also modifies the entry in the database by subtracting the compensated amount of time from the total amount of uncompensated time.
