    Abstract: A metallic alloy includes Cu and one or more metals M selected from the group consisting of Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Zn, wherein the alloy has a surface in the form of a vermiculated arrangement of irregular, nanoporous lands separated by troughs or channels. It can be made by contacting a precursor alloy including Cu, M and Al with a caustic liquid under conditions sufficient to remove the Al. Or, a metallic alloy includes Cu and one or more metals M selected from the group consisting of Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Zn, wherein the one or more metals M in total constitute in a range of 3 at. % to 7 at. %, relative to the total of Cu and M. Both types of alloy can be used as an electrocatalyst in a water electrolyzer or a hydrogen fuel cell.

The apparatus comprises: i) a lighting apparatus having at least two modes of illumination to illuminate the target surface, wherein a first mode of illumination produces a pattern onto the target surface and a second mode of illumination illuminates every part of the target surface; ii) an imaging device for capturing respective images of the target surface upon a sequential activation of the first and second modes of illumination of the target surface by the lighting apparatus; and iii) a processor for reconstructing the three-dimensional profile of the target surface based on the images of the target surface as captured by the imaging device. A method of reconstructing a 3D profile of a target surface of an object is also disclosed.

    Abstract: The invention provides a start-up method for a reaction-regeneration unit for preparing light olefins from methanol, which comprises: (a) heating a regenerator with an auxiliary combustion chamber and a reactor with a start-up furnace; (b) charging a catalyst into the regenerator and reactor; (c) closing a spent catalyst slide valve and a regenerated catalyst slide valve after the reactor reaches about 350° C. or more; (d) feeding methanol to the reactor after the dense phase stage of the regenerator reaches about 350° C. or more; (e) opening the spent catalyst slide valve and introducing a carbon deposited catalyst from the reactor to the regenerator after the dense phase stage reaches about 400° C. or more and the average amount of carbon deposits on the catalyst in the reactor reaches about 2.5% or more; (f) raising the regenerator to above about 580° C.; and (g) stopping the start-up furnace and auxiliary combustion chamber.

More specifically, candidate aerial imagery can be identified for alignment with the ground based image. Geometric data associated with the ground based image can be obtained and used to warp the ground based image to a perspective associated with the candidate aerial imagery. One or more feature matches between the warped image and the candidate aerial imagery can then be identified using a feature matching technique.
