  • Patent number: 10548748
Abstract: A method of reducing blood flow within an aneurysm includes: injecting a contrast agent into a blood vessel including an aneurysm; expanding a stent, from a delivery device, across the aneurysm; and confirming that a stagnated area forms in the aneurysm. The stagnated area can form a crescent shape, a mushroom shape, a hemispherical shape, and/or a flat side. Upon confirming that the stagnated area forms in the aneurysm, the delivery device can be withdrawn from the blood vessel. The stagnated area can include the contrast agent. If the stagnated area does not form in the aneurysm, a second occluding device may be deployed. After withdrawing the delivery device, substantially all of the aneurysm progressively thromboses.

  • Publication number: 20190156441
Abstract: Approaches presented herein enable development of interwoven group trip itineraries based on social media footprints. More specifically, for each member of the group, a travel interests footprint is generated based on his/her social media history. These footprints are mapped together in a semantic web that includes identifiers associated with the interests of the footprints. Activities corresponding to a time and location are obtained and matched based on correlations to the interest-associated identifiers. Based on an association of a group member’ footprint to a semantic web identifier, and from there to an activity, itineraries are built for the members and activities are added to particular members' itineraries in which those members are likely to have an interest. Based on user-defined criteria, activities in the itineraries can be shared by the group as a whole or subgroups may be formed when the itineraries of some group members are assigned different activities.

  • Patent number: 9975171
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for mechanically reducing an amount of the skull material in a finished, molded part formed from amorphous alloy using an injection molding system. Skull material of molten amorphous alloy can be captured in a trap before molding such material. A cavity can be provided in the injection molding system to trap the skull material. For example, the cavity can be provided in the mold, the tip of the plunger rod, or in the transfer sleeve. Alternatively, mixing of molten amorphous alloy can be induced so that skull material is reduced before molding. A plunger and/or its tip can be used to induce mixing (e.g., systematic movement of plunger rod, or a shape of its tip). By minimizing the amount of skull material in the finished, molded part, the quality of the part is increased.

  • Patent number: 9924438
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for allowing a mobile device to roam from a first frequency band to a second frequency band for a dual band access point when a signal strength associated with the first frequency band improves. For example, the mobile device may store a first signal strength associated with the first frequency band when the mobile device first connects to the first frequency band and may monitor subsequent signal strengths to determine if they exceed the first signal strength. When a subsequent signal strength exceeds the first signal strength, the mobile device may use this as an indication that the mobile device is closer to the access point and within range of the second frequency band. The mobile device may then detect and connect to the second frequency band.
