Publication number: 20240128651Abstract: A wireless device with a slot antenna includes one or more heat spreaders, a PCB with vias to allow current to flow through the PCB, various components disposed on the PCB, and a slot antenna compliment. By layering the components, e.g., heat spreaders, PCB, slot antenna compliment, etc. one or more slot antennas are formed from these components as to integrate the slot antennas into the existing structure. The formed slot antenna is a spiraled shape as to reduce the overall footprint of the slot antenna while keeping the required quarter-wavelength total effective length of an open-slot antenna. The formed slot antenna is wide enough to allow the antenna to accommodate a wide bandwidth and may include a plurality of steps to further allow for tuning of the length of the slot antenna. The wireless device can further include a housing enclosing the internal components.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Miroslav SAMARDZIJA, Arthur TUNG, Ming-Tsung SU, Liem Hieu Dinh VO

Patent number: 8104493Abstract: A two-stage collapsing device includes a base having a passage with first and second slots defined in an inner periphery thereof. A first locking member and a second locking member are movably received in the two slots. The first and second locking members each include a latch to be engaged with a hole of the runner. A button is connected to the base and the second locking member is fixed to the button. A U-shaped member is pivotably connected to the inside of the button and two legs of the U-shaped member can push the first locking member inward to release the runner when opening the umbrella. During the first stage of collapsing the two legs of the U-shaped member are pivoted away from the two distal ends of the first locking member, so that even if the button is pressed, the umbrella does not open.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2010Date of Patent: January 31, 2012Inventor: Ping-Tung Su

Patent number: 7225821Abstract: An umbrella structure according to the invention includes a cover, a shaft, a notch, a runner, main ribs and stretchers. The notch is downwardly extended to form an extension section, which is accommodated with the runner and extruded to form an integral elastic protrusion. The protrusion is devised as a fastening button with one end thereof joined with the extension section, and a projecting top portion forming a supporting plane for butting against the runner. When the umbrella is stretched, the supporting plane of the protrusion section is butted against a lower section of the runner to stretch the umbrella.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2004Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Inventor: Ping-Tung Su

Patent number: 7210491Abstract: An umbrella structure includes a cover, a shaft, a notch, a runner, main ribs and stretchers. The notch is extended downward to form a fixing portion. The fixing portion has one end disposed with a protruding loop section, and an appropriate position disposed with a fastening orifice for corresponding with the protruding button. The runner is accommodated at the fixing portion, and is capable of up-and-down sliding movements at the fixing portion. When stretching the umbrella, the protruding button at the fastening device is steadily locked at the fastening orifice at the fixing portion to smoothly stretch the umbrella. When collapsing the umbrella, the shaft is stored in the fixing portion to prevent the shaft from damages and deformations by offering the shaft with appropriate protection. Using the aforesaid structure, a drawback as being incapable of securely stretching the umbrella due to a reduced volume of the umbrella is solved.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2003Date of Patent: May 1, 2007Inventor: Ping-Tung Su

Publication number: 20070062566Abstract: A flat umbrella improvement structure is comprised of a notch and a runner, both are in flat shapes. A variety of main ribs have one ends thereof symmetrically pivoted on both sides of the curved edges of the notch and have the middle portions thereof that are pivoted to the notch on the same side of the notch designed as curved surfaces and protruded in shape, in addition, a variety of stretchers that are correspondently pivoted to the main ribs have the portions thereof connecting to the runner designed as curved protruded shapes as well. As the umbrella is collapsed, the collapsed middle radial heights of the main ribs and of the stretchers are higher than the collapsed radial heights of the rest main ribs and of the corresponding stretchers. Therefore, the umbrella of the invention is able to be collapsed tightly in a flat collapsed shape with minimum umbrella size, thereby enabling said umbrella to be easily carried and stored.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2005Publication date: March 22, 2007Inventors: Fu-Tien Liu, Ping-Tung Su
