    Abstract: A second level intra prediction mode can be combined with one or more of sixty-seven JVET intra prediction modes during encoding of a coding unit in a video bitstream. Embodiments include making a position dependent intra prediction combination (PDPC) mode available as the second level intra prediction mode. In embodiments, when a PDPC (position dependent intra prediction combination) mode is enabled, the second level intra prediction is combined with one of the 67 selected intra predictor modes. In embodiments, the PDPC mode is only enabled or available for a predetermined subset of intra prediction modes (out of 67 possible modes), in order to reduce encoder complexity and potentially improve coding efficiency. The PDPC mode may be identifies as enabled or available by a list of modes or signaling in the video bitstream.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some non-terrestrial networks, the movement of satellites may result in the movement of cell coverage. A user equipment (UE) may experience changing cell coverage due to the movement of cell coverage, even if the UE is stationary. A UE may be configured to determine a cell is serving two or more earth-fixed tracking areas, determine whether to monitor paging resources of a first earth-fixed tracking area or a second earth-fixed tracking area, and monitor the selected paging resources. In some aspects, the UE may determine that a cell serves two or more earth-fixed tracking areas based on a received control message including multiple tracking area indicators. In some aspects, the UE may determine which paging resources to monitor based on a geographic position of the UE.

    Abstract: A communication subsystem, method and computer program product preconfigure a size of a transport control protocol (TCP) buffer when connected to a master node using a first radio access technology (RAT) that supports during dual connectivity with a secondary node using a second RAT. A timer is started when the secondary node is available but not being used at least in part for data transfer. Until the timer expires, the TCP buffer is maintained in a size to efficiently provide both (i) support for data transfer using the first RAT via the master node only; and (ii) expedited setup of data transfer using at least the secondary node using the second RAT. When the timer expires without connecting to the secondary node, the controller reduces the size of the TCP buffer to release storage resources that are not needed for data transfer via only the master node.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a semiconductor device includes forming a fin structure comprising alternately stacked first semiconductor layers and second semiconductor layers over a substrate. A sacrificial gate structure is formed over the fin structure. Spacers are formed on either side of the sacrificial gate structure. The sacrificial gate structure is removed to form a trench between the spacers. The first semiconductor layers are removed from the trench, while leaving the second semiconductor layers suspended in the trench. A self-assembling monolayer is formed on sidewalls of the spacers in the trench. Interfacial layers are formed encircling the suspended second semiconductor layers, respectively. A high-k dielectric layer is deposited at a faster deposition rate on the interfacial layers than on the self-assembling monolayer. A metal gate structure is formed over the high-k dielectric layer.
