  • Patent number: 10331349
Abstract: The present disclosure introduces a method and an apparatus of shrinking virtual hard disk image file. The present techniques search a garbage data block in a file and revise a record of the garbage data block in a block allocation table (BAT). The file includes one or more data blocks and a BAT that records information of each data block. The garbage data block is a data block that does not store effective data. The present techniques move an effective data block subsequent to the garbage data block, revise a record of the effective data block in the BAT after the moving, and shrink a size of the file after the movement.

  • Patent number: 10331526
Abstract: Some aspects of the disclosure include a self-refresh entry sequence for a memory, such as a DRAM, that may be used to avoid a frequency mismatch between a system processor and a system memory. The self-refresh entry sequence may signal the memory to reset the frequency set point state and default to the power-up state upon a self-refresh process exit. In another aspect, a new mode register may be used to indicate that the frequency set point needs to be reset after the next self-refresh entry command. In this aspect, the processor will execute a mode register write command followed by a self-refresh entry in response to the occurrence of a crash event. Then, the memory will reset to the default frequency set point by the end of self-refresh entry execution.

  • Patent number: 10334533
Abstract: Channel state information reference signal transmission can be used to estimate channel state information. Although resources needed for channel state information reference signals can be small, when multiple bandwidths are deployed within the same orthogonal frequency division multiplexing bandwidth, estimating the channel state information can comprise a channel state information reference signal resource grid for every bandwidth. Therefore, time-frequency resources for channel state information reference signals can be high and occupy a lot of bandwidth, thereby reducing the number of resources for data transmission. Therefore, a non-orthogonal design for channel state information reference signals for a 5G air interface can mitigate bandwidth loss in a 5G network.

  • Patent number: 10330712
Abstract: A fast algorithm is used to study the transient behavior due to a step-like pulse applied to a nano-chip. This algorithm is carried out on a computer and consists of two parts: The algorithm I reduces the computational complexity to T0N3 for large systems as long as T<N; The algorithm II employs the fast multipole technique and achieves scaling T0N3 whenever T<N2 beyond which it becomes T log2 N for even longer time. Hence it is of order O(1) if T<N2. Benchmark calculation has been done on graphene nanoribbons with N=104 and T=108. This new algorithm allows many large scale transient problems to be solved, including magnetic tunneling junctions and ferroelectric tunneling junctions that could not be achieved before, and using less computing capacity.

  • Patent number: 10329117
Abstract: An energy-saving traction-type elevator and an energy-saving method therefor are presented. The traction-type elevator includes at least one counterbalance unit, each counterbalance unit comprising a traction machine. The traction-type elevator further includes an automatic transmission, a hoist-type lifting mechanism, a power-generating electric motor, and a controller provided in a machine room, and a car, a fixed counterweight and a balancing counterbalance provided in an elevator shaft. The energy-saving method applies the principle of moment balance, whereby adding a separate elevator balancing counterbalance to achieve intelligent counterbalancing of the elevator so that the elevator achieves relative balance, thereby reducing the traction moment and rate of work of the traction machine. When the potential energy of the elevator balancing counter-balance builds up to a high position, the power-generating electric motor can perform centralized power generation, aiding in energy recovery and use.
