  • Patent number: 8611912
Abstract: A bandwidth configuration method includes: A terminal acquires that a narrow bandwidth mode is used at a network side by a downlink transmission signal and/or an uplink transmission signal; and the terminal configures a receiving bandwidth and/or a transmitting bandwidth, where the receiving bandwidth and/or the transmitting bandwidth corresponds to the narrow bandwidth mode at the network side. The terminal side can acquire whether the network side uses the narrow bandwidth technology, and automatically adjust a bandwidth of a corresponding channel at the terminal side when the network side uses the narrow bandwidth technology, so that intra-system performance loss and inter-system interference that are caused by different bandwidth modes between the terminal side and the network side are avoided, thus improving performance of a communication system.

  • Patent number: 8611627
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the performing spectral calibration of a CT imaging system. In accordance with certain embodiments, spectral calibration phantoms are scanned while positioned on a table in the imaging volume of the CT imaging system. The scans of the calibration phantoms, in conjunction with air sans performed on the CT imaging system, are used to derive information about the deviation of the measured phantom scans from an ideal. The deviation information is in turn used to derive spectral calibration vectors that may be used with the CT imaging system.

  • Patent number: 8611229
Abstract: Disclosed are a retransmission method, a base station, and a user device in a multicast system. In order to reduce uplink signaling resource, a new MNI (Multiple NACK Indicator) message is added to an uplink common feedback channel in an existing E-MBMS system. The MNI message enables decision of an XOR retransmission group which satisfies the XOR retransmission condition. As compared to a conventional XOR retransmission, the number of uplink signalings does not depend on the number of receivers. That is, when a plenty of receptions are present, it is possible to significantly reduce uplink signalings.

  • Patent number: 8612186
Abstract: System, method and software product for numerically simulating structural behaviors of an engineering product in compressible and near-incomprssible region is disclosed. Meshfree enriched finite element method (ME-FEM) is used for such numerical simulation. ME-FEM requires an engineering product be represented by a FEM model comprising a plurality of finite elements. Finite elements used in the ME-FEM are generally low-order finite elements. Each of the finite elements in the FEM model is enriched by at least one meshfree enriched (ME) node located within the element's domain. Each ME node has additional degrees-of-freedom for the element it belongs independent from those of the corner nodes. A displacement based first-order convex meshfree approximation is applied to the ME node. The convex meshfree approximation has Knonecker-delta property at the element's boundary. The gradient matrix of ME-FEM element satisfies integration constraint.

  • Patent number: 8611449
Abstract: A method for wireless network communication is provided. The method comprises determining, by a transmitter including a quantity of antennas, a quantity of transmitted layers; mapping a quantity of data symbols to the antennas using a quantity of precoders; generating a quantity of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) antenna ports based on the quantities of the antennas, the transmitted layers, and the precoders; and determining whether to precode at least one of the DMRS antenna ports with the precoders. The method further maps the precoded data symbols and the DMRS antenna ports to a quantity of resource elements. The method then modulates a signal comprising the resource elements and transmits the modulated signal to a receiver. Subsequently, the method estimates a channel received by the receiver over the DMRS antenna ports.

  • Publication number: 20130329798
Abstract: A video coding system may initiate coding of a new coding session with reference to an “inferred key frame” that is known both to an encoder and a decoder before a coding session begins. The inferred key frame need not be transmitted between the encoder and decoder via the channel. Instead, the inferred key frame may be stored locally at the encoder and the decoder. Frames coded at the onset of a video coding session may be coded with reference to the inferred key frame, which increases the likelihood a decoder will receive a frame it can decode properly and accelerate the rate at which the decoder generates recovered video data. Inferred key frames may be used as prediction references to recover from transmission errors.
