  • Patent number: 10291753
Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing private allocated networks in a virtual infrastructure are presented. One method operation creates virtual switches in one or more hosts in the virtual infrastructure. Each port in the virtual switches is associated with a private allocated network (PAN) from a group of possible PANs. In one embodiment, one or more PANs share the same physical media for data transmission. The intranet traffic within each PAN is not visible to nodes that are not connected to the each PAN. In another operation, the method defines addressing mode tables for the intranet traffic within each PAN. The entries in the addressing mode tables define addressing functions for routing the intranet traffic between the virtual switches, and different types of addressing functions are supported by the virtual switches.

  • Patent number: 10291309
Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to managing the transmission of uplink beams. For example, a first apparatus may generate a signal for transmission to a second apparatus. Thereafter, the first apparatus may detect a condition associated with transmitting the signal via a first uplink beam at a first transmission power. The condition may include the first uplink beam exceeding a maximum permissible exposure (MPE) limit. Accordingly, the first apparatus may refrain from transmitting the signal via the first uplink beam based on the at least one condition and transmit the signal to the second apparatus using a second uplink beam different from the first uplink beam.

  • Patent number: 10291172
Abstract: A method of controlling a portable appliance includes measuring an input current supplied to a motor of the portable appliance and measuring a rotational speed of a shaft of the motor. The method also includes determining a current limit based on the rotational speed of the shaft using a substantially continuous function which relates a domain of rotational speeds to a range of current limits. The method further includes reducing, when the input current exceeds the current limit, the rotational speed of the shaft incrementally along the substantially continuous function until the input current is approximately equal to the current limit.

  • Publication number: 20190138063
Abstract: The present invention includes provides secure, instant, and anonymous connections between two devices. The invention pairs a “cap” device with a capacitive touchscreen to a “cam” device with a camera sensor. For example, typical smartphones and tablets can be paired with each other, and these devices can be paired to even larger touchscreens, such as smart whiteboards and touchscreen monitors. The invention uses the cap device's touchscreen to detect and track the cam device, and displays color-modulated pairing data directly underneath the camera once the camera is touching the screen. The pairing data is used as configuration data for a bidirectional link, such as an ad-hoc WiFi or Bluetooth link. These links are established without requiring user configuration. As such, the present invention provides a unidirectional communication mechanism from the touchscreen to the camera, which is used to bootstrap a full bidirectional, high-speed link.

  • Publication number: 20190141640
Abstract: Techniques are provided for power control in directional beam environments. A user equipment (UE) may determine one or more power parameters on a beam-by-beam basis. Each directional uplink transmission beam in a communication link between the UE and the base station may be independently controlled using these beam-specific power parameters. Examples of these beam-specific power parameters may include a maximum output power for a given directional uplink transmission beam and a difference between the maximum output power for the given directional uplink transmission beam and an estimated transmit power for the given directional uplink transmission beam. The UE may report one or more of these beam-specific power parameters to a base station using a beam-specific report.
