  • Publication number: 20190028242
Abstract: This application discloses a method for a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback of downlink data. A terminal receives downlink data of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and downlink data of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) or an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH) from a base station. Then the terminal sends a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback codebook to the base station. A size of the HARQ feedback codebook is based on a state of a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) PDSCH transmission and a total downlink assignment indicator in the downlink data of the PDCCH or the EPDCCH, and the HARQ feedback codebook comprises a HARQ bit for the SPS PDSCH transmission.

  • Publication number: 20190029036
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Uplink random access channel (RACH) transmissions may be sent on multiple beams by a user equipment (UE). For example, a UE may transmit a random access preamble to a base station in a first RACH transmission, and the base station may respond with a random access response in a second RACH transmission. The second RACH transmission may include an indication for the UE to use multiple transmit beams for a third RACH transmission. Using the indication received from the base station, the UE may proceed to use the indicated two or more beams when sending the third RACH transmission to the base station. Upon receiving the third RACH transmission from the UE, the base station may respond with a fourth RACH transmission, which may further include an indication to the UE to transmit an acknowledgment using one or more beams.

  • Publication number: 20190027615
Abstract: A far-field radiative thermal rectification device uses a phase change material to achieve a high degree of asymmetry in radiative heat transfer. The device has a multilayer structure on one side and a blackbody on other side. The multilayer structure can consist of a transparent thin film of KBr sandwiched between a thin film of VO2 and a reflecting layer of gold. When VO2 is in its insulating phase, the structure is highly reflective due to the two transparent layers on highly reflective gold. When VO2 is in the metallic phase, Fabry-Perot type of resonance occurs and the tri-layer structure acts like a wide-angle antireflection coating achieved by destructive interference of partially reflected waves making it highly absorptive for majority of spectral range of thermal radiation. The instant structure can form the active part of a configuration that acts like a far-field radiative thermal diode.

  • Publication number: 20190028854
Abstract: A multicast transmission method is disclosed. A base station of a first cell obtains first multicast resource information of at least one second cell, where the base station of the first cell is different from a base station of each second cell; and the base station of the first cell sends second multicast resource information to user equipment, where the second multicast resource information is used to indicate a resource configuration used by each second cell to transmit multicast service data. The base station of the first cell actively sends obtained multicast resource information to the user equipment in a broadcast manner. In this way, the base station of the first cell does not need to configure, in a unicast manner for each user equipment, a resource location for sending/reading the multicast service data of each second cell, thereby reducing signaling overheads.

  • Publication number: 20190026550
Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods categorize text regions of an electronic document into document object types based on a combination of semantic information and appearance information from the electronic document. A page segmentation application executing on a computing device accesses textual feature representations that represent text portions in a vector space, where a set of pixels from the page is mapped to a textual feature representation. The page segmentation application generates a visual feature representation, which corresponds to an appearance of a document portion including the set of pixels, by applying a neural network to the page of the electronic document. The page segmentation application generates an output page segmentation of the electronic document by applying the neural network to the textual feature representation and the visual feature representation.

  • Publication number: 20190027470
Abstract: An Electro-Static-Discharge (ESD) protection device has a Fin Field-Effect Transistor (FinFET) with a silicon fin with a step separating a top fin and a bottom fin. The gate wraps around the top fin but not the bottom fin. Normal gate-controlled channel conduction occurs in the top fin between a source and a drain in the top fin. Underneath the conducting channel is a buried conducting region in the bottom fin that conducts after a breakdown voltage is reached during ESD. A ledge, abrupt slope change in the sidewalls of the fin, or a doping increase occurs at the step between the top fin and bottom fin. The bottom fin is 2-3 times wider than the top fin, causing the resistance of the buried conducting region to be 2-3 times less than the resistance of the conducting channel, steering breakdown current away from the channel, reducing failures during breakdown.
