Specifically, the present application selects a cobalt oxide compound, which uses Co3O4 as a main body, as a precursor of lithium cobalt oxide, and anion doping is performed in particles of Co3O4 to obtain a doped precursor for lithium cobalt oxide. The general formula of the precursor can be expressed as Co3(O1-yMy)4, where about 0<y<about 0.2, and wherein the anion M comprises at least one of F, P, S, Cl, N, As, Se, Br, Te, I or At. The lithium ion battery with a cathode made of lithium cobalt oxide material prepared by using the precursor presents good cycle stability in a high voltage charge-discharge environment.

A method for preparing the MOFs composite electrode material includes steps of: using nickel nitrate hexahydrate and benzenetricarboxylic acid as raw materials to synthesize Ni-BTC by a hydrothermal method; and using a liquid phase method to grow PEDOT on a surface of the Ni-BTC. An MOFs composite electrode slurry and a working electrode for the supercapacitors including the above MOFs composite electrode material or a MOFs composite electrode material prepared by the above method are also provided. The MOFs composite electrode material provided by the present invention combines advantages of Ni-BTC and PEDOT.

In some embodiments, the disclosed alloys may be Cerium, Neodymium, and/or Gadolinium based compositions that are fairly inexpensive, and in some cases exhibit only 2nd order magnetic phase transitions near their curie temperature, thus there are limited thermal and structural hysteresis losses. This makes these compositions attractive candidates for use in magnetic refrigeration applications. Surprisingly, the performance of the disclosed materials is similar or better to many of the known expensive rare-earth based magnetocaloric materials.
