    Abstract: The invention relates to a fingerprint recognition system. The fingerprint recognition system includes a light emitter, an optical receiver, and a comparison module. First, the light emitter emits at least one patterned emitted light to an object to be measured, and the patterned reflected light reflected by the object is received by the light receiver. Then, the patterned emitted light and the patterned reflected light are compared with each other and the comparison information is generated by the comparison module. Finally, when the comparison information is in the three-dimensional comparison interval, the surface of the object to be measured is determined to be three-dimensional; otherwise, the surface of the object to be measured is determined to be flat. Therefore, the fingerprint recognition system of the present invention can achieve the purposes of real-time differentiation and wide applicability.

    Abstract: Compositions and methods for modulating HIF-2? to meditate of hypoxia signaling in satellite cells and applications thereof for improving skeletal muscle generation and repair are provided. For example, methods of enhancing, increasing, accelerating or/and otherwise improving skeletal muscle generation or regeneration in a subject in need thereof are disclosed. In some embodiments, the methods include administering the subject an effective amount of HIF-2? inhibitor. The HIF-2? inhibitor can be effective to, for example, increase muscle satellite cell proliferation, differentiation, or a combination thereof in a subject. Composition and methods for improving respiration, and reducing or preventing the development or progression of fibrosis are also provided. The disclosed compositions and methods are particularly useful for treating muscular dystrophies, myopathies, and other muscle-related diseases and disorders.

    Abstract: A method includes following steps. A semiconductor substrate is etched to form semiconductor fins. A dielectric material is deposited into a trench between the semiconductor fins. The semiconductor fins are etched such that top ends of the semiconductor fins are lower than a top surface of the dielectric material. After etching the semiconductor fins, epitaxially growing epitaxial fins on the semiconductor fins, respectively. A chemical mechanical polish (CMP) process is performed on the epitaxial fins, followed by cleaning the epitaxial fins using a non-contact-type cleaning device. The dielectric material is then such that the top surface of the dielectric material is lower than top ends of the epitaxial fins. A gate structure is formed across the epitaxial fins.

An air vacuum is circumferentially located in a region between the first chuck and second chuck. The air vacuum is configured to induce a vacuum between the first workpiece and second workpiece to selectively bring the first workpiece and second workpiece together from a propagation point. The air vacuum can be localized air vacuum guns, a vacuum disk, or an air curtain positioned about the periphery of the region between the first chuck and second chuck. The air curtain induces a lower pressure within the region between the first and second chucks.

    Abstract: A riser data logging system can be installed on the riser top to provide real time information of the riser, instead of or in addition to relying on sensors installed on a tensioner. The riser recoil detection system can thus be made independent of any motion of the vessel. This logging system can feedback the riser top acceleration, velocity, position, and the wire-line tensions into a controller. By comparing the acceleration difference between the riser top and the vessel body, the controller can provide more reliable and faster detection of events occurring on a vessel, potentially detecting the condition within one second. If the acceleration exceeds a certain limit, the electrical tensioners are able to reduce the wire-line tension nearly instantaneously, providing a much more effective anti-recoil control that conventional hydro-pneumatic tensioners.
