  • Patent number: 12241198
Abstract: A device and a method of flattening recycled carbon fiber material are provided. A main body is provided with two flat plates at an upper and a lower positions corresponding to each other and an ultrasonic unit is disposed on each of the flat plates. While in use, recycled carbon fiber material is placed at the lower flat plate and then at least one ultrasonic probe of the ultrasonic unit is driven to work and vibrate the recycled carbon fiber material into a flat and thin state. After the flattened recycled carbon fiber material being pressurized to form products required, the product has flat and smooth surfaces with special textures. A thickness of the product can be controlled and the product can be thinned according to users' needs, without surface treatment such as grinding, polishing, etc. Thereby production cost is reduced and yield rate of the products is improved.

  • Patent number: 12239374
Abstract: A lacrimal tear flow measurement device, and methods of manufacture and use, are described that includes a polymer microcapillary tube or similar structure having at least one end coated on the outside with soft silicone rubber and one end treated on the inside to be hydrophobic. The hydrophobic end keeps liquid from escaping or entering that end while allowing air to pass. The rest of the tube's insides may be hydrophilic or a neutral hydrophobe. As a Schirmer's test strip replacement, the entrance end of the device can be touched to the lacrimal lake of a patient's eye to collect suck up, or merely collect, tear fluid within the collection tube for weighing, volume measurement, or other analysis. Long-term collection devices for wear between doctors' visits can have a bypass channel allowing liquid to flow back onto the eye.

  • Patent number: 12240115
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to robotic devices and artificial intelligence. More specifically, some embodiments relate to a robotic device for picking items from a bin and perturbing items in a bin. In some implementations, the device may include one or more computer-vision systems. A computer-vision system, in accordance with the present technology, may use at least two two-dimensional images to generate three-dimensional (3D) information about the bin and items in the bin. Based on the 3D information, a strategy for picking up items from the bin is determined. When no strategies with high probability of success exist, the robotic device may perturb the contents of the bin to create new available pick-up points and re-attempt to pick up an item.

  • Patent number: 12239777
Abstract: A thrombectomy system includes a catheter having a proximal end and a distal end, a valve in fluid communication with the catheter, and a cutting instrument associated with the distal end of the catheter. The cutting instrument may be configured for axial and/or rotational motion. A controller of the system may be configured to detect operational parameters of the cutting instrument. The controller may determine whether the cutting instrument is engaging with occlusive material based on the detected operational parameters. The controller may operate the valve in one or more operating modes to alter a level of pressure in the catheter based on whether the cutting instrument is engaging with the occlusive material.

  • Patent number: 12239834
Abstract: Optoelectronic retinal prostheses transduce light into electrical current for neural stimulation. A novel optoelectronic pixel architecture is presented comprising a vertically integrated photo junction field-effect-transistor (Photo-JFET) and neural stimulating electrode. Experimental measurements demonstrate that optically addressed Photo-JFET pixels utilize phototransistive gain to produce a broad range of neural stimulation current and can effectively stimulate retinal neurons in vitro. The compact nature of the Photo-JFET pixel can enable high resolution retinal prostheses with a theoretical visual acuity ˜20/60 to help restore vision in patients with degenerative retinal diseases.

  • Patent number: 12240474
Abstract: A vehicle system is provided for correcting in real-time a camera-based estimated position of a road object. The system includes a camera for generating an image input signal including image sensor data associated with the road object. The system further includes one or more input devices for generating a vehicle input signal including vehicle sensor data associated with a position, a speed, and a heading of the vehicle. The system further includes a computer, which includes one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable medium (CRM) storing instructions. The processor is programmed to match the image sensor data and the vehicle sensor data to one another based on a common time of collection. The processor is further programmed to determine an error model and a deviation of a current camera-based position from a predicted position. The processor is further programmed to update the error model based on the deviation.
