Abstract: An amine-functionalized adsorbent and a method for preparing the same are provided. The amine-functionalized adsorbent includes a metal-organic framework (MOF) material and polymeric amine, the crystal structure of the MOF material is a three-dimensional cage-like pore structure, and the polymeric amine is loaded inside the three-dimensional cage-like pore structure. The amine-functionalized adsorbent has high adsorption capacity and rapid adsorbing speed of carbon dioxide at room temperature.

Abstract: A system and method for preventing erroneous data entry is disclosed. When presented with a form, such as in a website or an app, users are often requested to submit private information that should not be made public. However, form fields are often not protected, and users commonly erroneously enter private information into forms requesting non-private information. Therefore, an alternative entry display is provided to the user to allow the user to separately and securely submit form field entries. This display analyzes the information provided to the user to determine the type of data being requested by a selected form field. This information is used not only to prompt the user in the alternative entry display, but also to verify that the information provided by the user matches the type being requested for security purposes.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a bio-based epoxy chain extender and a preparation method thereof, belonging to the technical field of chain extenders, and the preparation method includes the following steps: (1) mixing ESO and CD and carrying out catalytic reaction to obtain ESOn-CD; and (2) mixing and heating the ESOn-CD with concentrated sulfuric acid, dropwise adding a mixture of glacial acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide for stirring reaction, and after the stirring reaction, carrying out extraction and separation to remove a solvent to obtain the bio-based epoxy chain extender. The present disclosure also provides a bio-based epoxy chain extender prepared by the preparation method.

Abstract: Some embodiments described herein relate to a sensor that includes a first a first polymer-luminescent sensing compound configured to produce a first luminescent signal in the presence of a first analyte and a second polymer-luminescent sensing compound configured to produce a second luminescent signal in the presence of a second analyte. The second luminescent signal can have a luminescent lifetime that is at least 1.1 times greater than a luminescent lifetime of the first luminescent signal. Such temporally differences in signal can be used to deconvolute the first luminescent signal from the second luminescent signal even when, for example, the first luminescent signal and the second luminescent signal have the same or a similar emission spectrum.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques for improving disaster recovery, in particular disaster recovery pertaining to data transfer requests. The data transfer request can be received by each of multiple deployments; however, only a primary deployment can process the request. The data transferred by the primary deployment may be replicated in the secondary deployments. In response to a failover event, one of the secondary deployments can be designated as the new primary development and continue the data transfer based on the data transfer request and the replication information received from the old primary deployment prior to the failover.
