    Abstract: An improved system and method for flexible object placement and soft-state indexing of objects in a distributed object store is provided. A distributed object store may be provided by a large number of system nodes operably coupled to a network. A system node provided may include an access module for communicating with a client, an index module for building an index of a replicated data object, a data module for storing a data object on a computer readable medium, and a membership and routing module for detecting the configuration of operable nodes in the distributed system. Upon failure of an index node, the failure may be detected at other nodes, including those nodes that store the replicas of the object. These nodes may then send new index rebuilding requests to a different node that may rebuild the index for servicing any access request to the object.

    Abstract: A transmitter for transmitting signals to a receiver is provided. The transmitter generates a padded code sequence comprising a plurality of symbols. The padded sequence is generated by padding the first symbol to the end of a code sequence. The padding method can be applied to Zadoff-Chu code, generalized chirp like code, CAZAC sequence to acquire extra code property, e.g. orthogonal in terms of differential detection. The padded code sequence can be allocated on sub-carriers of an OFDM symbol in frequency domain in increasing or decreasing order to resist linear phase shift due to time domain delay. If multiple OFDM symbols are used, the padded code sequence may be divided into multiple sections and each section may be padded in the same padding manner. Latter on, the transmitter transmits the padded code sequence to a receiver via an air interface. Upon receiving the padded code sequence via the air interface, the receiver may detect the padded sequence according to its structure, e.g.

    Abstract: A propeller fan has a gap between a bellmouth and each blade tip. A leakage flow is thus produced from a positive pressure surface of a blade toward a negative pressure surface of the blade via the gap. The leakage flow develops while flowing from the leading edge of each blade toward the trailing edge, thus forming a blade tip vortex. This increases blowing noise and raises the input of the fan motor. In order to suppress the blade tip vortex caused by the leakage flow, the present invention includes recessed portions and projected portions, which are alternately formed in a portion of a blade surface of each blade corresponding to the blade tip.

    Abstract: The invention provides an SPR measuring method and a measuring system thereof. According to the measuring method, first, a linear-polarized coherent broadband pulsed light beam is incident onto a surface of a sample under detection of a SPR sensing device to cause reflection; next, a time-domain monotonous chirp is performed on the incident coherent broadband pulsed light and/or the SPR reflected light; finally, the time-domain monotonically chirped SPR reflected light beam is detected, and information of the SPR effect is obtained according to the detected signal. According to the invention, the spectrum detection method used in conventional slow wavelength interrogation is converted into the high-speed real-time detection of time-domain pulse shape signals. Thus, the procedure of the SPR reaction may be monitored closely, and dynamical curves with very high time resolution may be obtained, in that case, fast biochemical reaction procedures may be monitored.
