Abstract: An electrical connector assembly (100) combining at least two different types of interfaces, includes a first housing (1) having a first mating portion (11) at a front surface and a protrusion (12) extending from a bottom surface thereof. The protrusion has an upper portion and a lower portion being wider than the upper portion. A set of first terminals (3) are mounted on the first housing and extend into the first mating portion thereof. A second housing (2) is assembled to the first housing. The second housing has a second mating portion (21) at a front surface and a recess (26) at a top surface thereof to retain the protrusion therein. The recess has an upper portion and a lower portion being wider than the upper portion. A plurality of second terminals (4) are mounted on the second housing and extend into the second mating portion thereof. A second inner shell (6) encloses the second mating portion of the second housing. The second inner shell has a top surface abutted against by the protrusion.

Abstract: A method of enhancing alignment marks defined in a relatively thin layer on a wafer by etching the alignment marks into an underlying alignment mark transfer layer is described. The target area for the alignment marks is prepared by depositing material for the transfer layer. In alternative embodiments an oversized trench is formed in the target area prior to the deposition of the transfer layer. The alignment marks can fabricated in the layer(s) deposited by the existing process or alternatively, the original layers can be removed and replaced with a layer of material selected to have comparable etching properties (definition layer).

Abstract: A computer implemented method, data processing system, and computer usable program code are provided for reducing a chip package model. Responsive to receiving the chip package model, an inductance and a resistance of the chip package model is measured. The inductance and the resistance are measured using only a set of external nodes of the chip package model. A reduced node resistor model and a reduced node inductor model are created using the inductance and the resistance of the chip package model. A combined reduced node resistor-inductor chip package model is formed by combining the reduced node resistor model and reduced node inductor model.

Abstract: A method of applying a sculptured copper seed layer on a semiconductor feature surface using ion deposition sputtering. A first protective layer of material is deposited on a substrate surface using traditional sputtering or ion deposition sputtering, in combination with sufficiently low substrate bias that a surface onto which the layer is applied is not eroded away or contaminated during deposition of the protective layer. Subsequently, a sculptured second layer of material is applied using ion deposition sputtering at an increased substrate bias, to sculpture a shape from a portion of the first protective layer of material and the second layer of depositing material.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium and a magnetic recording apparatus for perpendicular magnetic recording. The recording medium includes a magnetically soft underlayer and a hard magnetic pinning layer having perpendicular anisotropy. The magnetically soft underlayer is substantially free of domain walls.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, article of manufacture, and a memory structure for providing advertisements into a streamed media program is disclosed. One embodiment comprises a user computer for accepting user input, the user input directly defining user preferences regarding the presentation of the advertisements in the streamed media program and for inserting advertisements in the streamed media program according to the defined user preferences; and a media program provider communicatively coupled to the user computer, for transmitting the streamed media program to the user computer for presentation to the user on a display communicatively coupled to the user computer.

Abstract: A method and system for identifying information about people is provided. The information system identifies groups of people that have relationships based on their relationships to documents or more generally to objects. The information system initially is provided with an indication of which people have which relationships to which documents. The information system then identifies clusters of people based on having a relationship to the same objects. The information system may also identify clusters of related objects associated with a cluster of people. When a user wants to identify information about a person, the user can provide the name of that person to the information system. The information system then can retrieve and display the names of the other people who are in the same cluster as the person.

Abstract: A method for fabricating a display is provided. The method includes providing a substrate having a pixel area, forming a plurality of patterned first electrodes on the pixel area, forming a plurality of partitions on both sides of the patterned first electrodes, respectively filling in spaces between the partitions with various colored material to cover the patterned first electrodes by a depositing process, and forming a cover on the partitions and the colored materials.

The system comprises a mobile phone, adapted to have a monitoring function for providing monitoring information and communications regarding monitoring and management of network performance; and a mobile communication network, providing mobile communication services to the mobile phone. The mobile communication network comprises a Mobile Measurement Agent (MMA), adapted to control performing of the monitoring function of the mobile phone, and to communicate with the mobile phone; a data server, adapted to store information comprising the monitoring information; and a component for processing the information stored in the data server, wherein a processing result of the information is used in performance monitoring and management of the mobile communication network.

Abstract: A method for aggregating data for a drilling operation. The method includes acquiring the data from a number of data sources associated with the drilling operation, synchronizing a timing of the data for aggregating the data to generate synchronized aggregated data, determining a drilling context based on the synchronized aggregated data, and assigning the determined drilling context to the synchronized aggregated data. The method further includes analyzing the synchronized aggregated data in the drilling context to generate an analysis and presenting the analysis to at least one user.

Abstract: A method for measuring a distance D2 between two points includes following steps. A first surface of a portable electronic device is parallel to a line defined by the two points. A distance D2 between the first surface and the line is obtained. A visible light beam B1 is rotated from an initial direction substantially perpendicular with the first surface and the line to direct at the point E1. A first angle defined by the visible light beam B1 striking the point E1 and the initial direction is computed. A visible light beam B2 is rotated from an initial direction to strike the point E2. A second angle defined by the visible light beam B2 striking the point E2and the initial direction is computed. A distance D1 is computed based on the distance D2, the first angle and the second angle. The distance D1 is outputted.

Abstract: User quality of experience in a real time communication system is determined by analyzing endpoint performance metric reports correlated with performance factors of each endpoint in an endpoint profile for a more complete view of an audio/video quality of experience. Reports may include endpoint profile reports, which may be sent once at the beginning and then again only if an endpoint attribute changes; session reports, which include measured metric information and are sent at the conclusion of each session; and session interval reports, which also include metric information, but are sent during the session based on a period or a predefined threshold.

Abstract: Mitigating the DC content of an AC output from an inverter is important for electrical system reliability. The inverter may be powered by unbalanced DC inputs while still mitigating the DC content of the AC output wavefrom. The present invention provides methods to mitigate the DC content in the output DC voltage by reshaping the PWM reference signals (carrier signals) according to the DC content in such a way that the DC content is canceled. These reshaped PWM reference signals may be, for example, unsymmetrical reference waveforms. Unlike conventional methods for providing an AC voltage from a DC voltage with an inverter, which may result in DC content in the output AC voltage when an unbalanced DC input voltage is supplied, the present invention provides methods for mitigating the DC content in an AC voltage, even if the inverter providing the AC voltage is supplied with unbalanced DC voltage.

Abstract: An exemplary adhesive bonding assembly includes a first component, a second embodiment, and an adhesive substance. The first component includes a first bonding surface and an operation surface opposite to the first bonding surface. A channel is defined in the first component extending from the first bonding surface to the operation surface. The second component includes a second bonding surface contacting the first bonding surface. The adhesive substance is received in the channel for bonding the first component and the second component together. A method for making the adhesive bonding assembly is also provided.
