    Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for non-orthogonal communication. One apparatus includes a transmitter that transmits a first signal to a first device for indicating a first resource in a control region of a carrier bandwidth. The first resource is used by the first device for transmitting first control information, and the first control information includes first non-orthogonal layer information. The apparatus also includes a receiver that receives the first control information from the first resource, and receives first data in a data region of the carrier bandwidth. The data region includes multiple non-orthogonal layers. The apparatus includes a processor that decodes the first control information, and decodes the first data based on the first control information.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for flow stitching network traffic flow segments across middleboxes. A method can include collecting flow records of traffic flow segments at a first middlebox and a second middlebox in a network environment including one or more transaction identifiers assigned to the traffic flow segments. Sources and destinations of the traffic flow segments can be identified with respect to the first middlebox and the second middlebox. Corresponding subsets of the traffic flow segments can be stitched together to from a first stitched traffic flow at the first middlebox and a second stitched traffic flow at the second middlebox. The first and second stitched traffic flows can be stitched together to form a cross-middlebox stitched traffic flow across the first middlebox and the second middlebox. The cross-middlebox stitched traffic flow can be incorporated as part of network traffic data for the network environment.

A system includes a sensing device comprising a pressure sensor to directly detect a pressure within a bladder. The sensing device is adapted to be located within the bladder. The system also includes a signal processing device to: receive a signal indicating the detected pressure within the bladder; detect a bladder event based the detected pressure within the signal; and characterize the bladder event as a bladder contraction event or a non-contraction event. The characterization of the bladder event can be used in the diagnosis of urinary incontinence or the treatment of lower urinary tract dysfunction.

    Abstract: An artificial neural network system for image classification, including multiple independent individual convolutional neural networks (CNNs) connected in multiple stages, each CNN configured to process an input image to calculate a pixelwise classification. The output of an earlier stage CNN, which is a class score image having identical height and width as its input image and a depth of N representing the probabilities of each pixel of the input image belonging to each of N classes, is input into the next stage CNN as input image. When training the network system, the first stage CNN is trained using first training images and corresponding label data; then second training images are forward propagated by the trained first stage CNN to generate corresponding class score images, which are used along with label data corresponding to the second training images to train the second stage CNN.

    Abstract: In some embodiments of the invention, OFDM symbols are transmitted as a plurality of clusters. A cluster includes a plurality of OFDM sub-carriers in frequency, over a plurality of OFDM symbol durations in time. Each cluster includes data as well as pilot information as a reference signal for channel estimation. In some embodiments, a plurality of clusters collectively occupy the available sub-carrier set in the frequency domain that is used for transmission. In some embodiments of the invention data and/or pilots are spread within each cluster using code division multiplexing (CDM). In some embodiments pilots and data are separated by distributing data on a particular number of the plurality of OFDM symbol durations and pilots on a remainder of the OFDM symbol durations. CDM spreading can be performed in time and/or frequency directions.
