  • Publication number: 20100296504
Abstract: Scheduling System Information (SI) in a radio communication system is disclosed. System Frame Number (SFN) and position of System Information is determined in accordance with the SFN. The SI-x is established, and all SIs on the radio frames are distributed discretely at different times for sending. An SI scheduling system and a UE are also disclosed. The technical solution under the present invention optimizes scheduling of SI, avoids excessive network load caused by sequentially sending of all SIs on different sub-frames, and improves the efficiency of scheduling user data.

  • Publication number: 20100298162
Abstract: A method for high throughput discovery of proteins fluorescently labeled at a cysteine residue and that undergo a change in fluorescence ratio at 2 wavelengths upon binding an unbound analyte is described. Probes are disclosed which are labeled at a cysteine residue and also probes labeled at both cysteine and lysine with two different fluorophores. These probes are useful for characterization and measurement of hydrophobic species in a fluid sample, particularly characterization and measurement of levels of unbound free fatty acids. A profile of unbound free fatty acids can be determined for an individual which can be used to determine the individual's relative risk for disease.

  • Publication number: 20100297441
Abstract: Fibers are spun from a supported array of nanotubes. Fibers are spun using a spinning shaft with, for example, a hook shaped end that contacts the supported nanotubes and twists some of them around each other to begin the fiber. As the twisted nanotubes detach from the support, the shaft moves away from and along the supported array in a controlled direction and at a controlled speed as it spins to twist and detach additional nanotubes from the support and extend the length of the fiber. If the array is pretreated with a dilute polymer solution, excess solution is squeezed out of the growing fiber during spinning, and the polymer may be cured at elevated temperature to provide a strong nanotube composite fiber.

  • Publication number: 20100295971
Abstract: Aspects of the invention pertain to enhanced zooming capability of user devices. A user device such as a mobile phone with a camera may capture images of different objects of interest. The capture and zooming limitations of the user device are overcome by replacing, supplementing or otherwise enhancing the image taken with one or more geo-coded images stored in a database. For instance, if the user attempts to zoom in on a feature of an object of interest and exceeds the zooming capability of the user device, a request is sent to a remote server to provide an image showing the feature of the object of interest at a desired resolution. The server determines which, if any, stored images correlate to the captured image of the object of interest. The resulting imagery is provided to the user device and is presented on a display.

  • Publication number: 20100295426
Abstract: An electronic device includes a body, a cover, a sliding apparatus, and a latch assembly. The body defines two sliding slots. The sliding apparatus is received in the slots and is slidable relative thereto. The cover is foldable on the body and is rotatably coupled to the sliding apparatus. The latch assembly is fixed to the sliding apparatus. When the latch assembly clasps the body, the sliding apparatus is unlatched from the electronic device, and the cover is slidable relative to the body and is unfolded while the cover slides away from the body.

  • Publication number: 20100295856
Abstract: A data visualization and analysis system (“DVAS”) is described, which provides techniques and data models for modeling, storing, retrieving, analyzing, and visually representing large data sets in a rapid, lightweight, flexible, and highly interactive fashion. A data model and various techniques are described with reference to trace data sets, which are files or other data storage constructs used to record information regarding certain defined events occurring during operation of a computing system or a portion thereof. The DVAS receives and parses one or more trace data sets to create a data model that includes a number of layers and other inner or auxiliary data structures. Based on the data model, the DVAS visually renders one or more sets of geometric objects in accordance with different drawing modes. The drawing modes, which are dynamic and interactive, enable users to effectively visually identify patterns within the trace data sets.

  • Publication number: 20100297175
Abstract: NS4B is one of the non-structural proteins of classical swine fever virus. By using functional genetics, we have discovered, in the predicted amino acid sequence of NS4B of CSFV strain Brescia, a motif that resembles those found in the toll-like receptor (TLR) proteins, a group of host cell proteins involved in the development of anti-viral mechanisms. We have located the TLR motif in two groups of amino acid triplets at amino acid positions 2531-3 (residues IYK) and 2566-8 (residues VGI) of the CSFV NS4B glycoprotein. We have constructed a recombinant CSFV (derived from an infectious clone containing the genetic information of the highly virulent strain Brescia) containing amino acid substitutions in the three amino acid residues at positions 2566, 2567 and 2568, where the VGI triplet has been replaced by an AAA triplet inside the NS4B glycoprotein. The obtained virus, named NS4B-VGIv, was completely attenuated in swine, showing a limited ability in spreading during the infection in vivo.
