Patent number: 9210057Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for cross-cutting event correlation in an enterprise computing monitoring and management system. An enterprise computing monitoring and management system can include a hierarchy of nodes, where several of the nodes are each coupled to a corresponding embedded correlation engine and an event bus. The system further can include a root node among the nodes. The root node can be coupled to the event bus and to centralized correlation logic programmed to identify a high correspondence between events from a particular event source among the nodes and a particular set of correlation rules in that correlation engine. The identification of such correspondence can be used to move to the set of correlation rules to an embedded correlation engine closer to the particular event source.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2014Date of Patent: December 8, 2015Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Ana C. Patent number: 8074121Abstract: An implementation verification policy for each of a set of change management tasks associated with one of a set of service requests within an information technology (IT) environment is created via a configuration management device. Each of the set of change management tasks is automatically implemented. An error associated with the automated implementation of one of the set of change management tasks is detected based on the implementation verification policy created for one of the set of change management tasks. The error is automatically correlated with a service request that caused the error.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2009Date of Patent: December 6, 2011Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Ana C. Publication number: 20100325540Abstract: A message occurrence can be detected when a software application runs on a computing device. The message occurrence can be an occurrence where a text containing message is presented upon a user interface of the software application or a log associated with the software application is updated with a text containing message. A user context for the message occurrence can be determined. The user context can include a user sequence and an execution path. Message occurrence information can be conveyed to a message context catalog. Within the message context catalog, the message occurrence information can be indexed against unique message identifiers. Message occurrence information from the message context catalog can be presented in a computer's user interface when a message uniquely identified by the message identifier is presented in the user interface. The user interface can permit a user to edit text of messages.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2009Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: ANA C. Publication number: 20080307348Abstract: A method, system and computer-usable medium are disclosed for using an interactive progress indicator bar to graphically display the completion status of a plurality of computer operations, modify predetermined operations before they are completed, and then restart the modified operations. An interactive progress indicator bar is implemented in a graphical user interface (GUI) and comprises a plurality of progress indicator segments. As computer operations are completed, the details of their completion status are entered into a computer operation log and indexed to their corresponding progress indicator segments. Details of the completion status of predetermined computer operations are viewed by selecting one or more corresponding progress indicator segments through a user gesture. If a predetermined computer operation is to be modified, a second user gesture opens a dialog box allowing the user to perform predetermined modifications.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2007Publication date: December 11, 2008Inventors: Angela Richards Jones, David L. Kaminsky, Ana C. Biazetti
