  • Patent number: 11954774
Abstract: Systems and methods enable users to build augmented reality (AR) experiences with Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The system includes an AR object studio that includes a list of IoT devices and control signals for the respective IoT devices and a list of AR objects (e.g., an AR lens). The AR object studio receives selections from users and correlates at least one IoT device to at least one AR object in response to the user selections. During use, a server receives an indication that an AR object has been activated and interacted with on a display of an AR camera device and, in response, sends a control signal to a correlated IoT device. Conversely, the server may receive a signal from an IoT device and, in response, present and control a correlated AR object on the display of the AR camera device.

  • Patent number: 11941231
Abstract: Systems and methods for interfacing augmented reality (AR) camera devices to Internet of Things (IoT) devices include pairing an AR camera device to an IoT device to establish which actions recognized by the AR camera device may control the IoT device, receiving an action identifier representing a gesture or position of a body part that has been recognized by the AR camera device, and sending a command to the IoT device paired with the AR camera device to perform a requested action in response to the action identifier received from the AR camera device. Context information relating to the action identifier from the AR camera may be used to modify the command sent to the IoT device. The AR camera device may be paired with an IoT device pointed at by the AR camera device, selected through a user interface of the AR camera device, or determined from context information.

  • Patent number: 11893301
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for creating a shared augmented reality (AR) session. The methods and systems perform operations comprising: receiving, by a client device, input that selects a shared augmented reality (AR) experience from a plurality of shared AR experiences; in response to receiving the input, determining one or more resources associated with the selected shared AR experience; determining, by the client device, that two or more users are located within a threshold proximity of the client device; and activating the selected shared AR experience in response to determining that the two or more users are located within the threshold proximity of the client device.

  • Publication number: 20230214819
Abstract: A system and associated methods display on a user device a non-fungible token (NFT) in an application that displays video data. The methods include storing the NFT of a user in a database accessible to the application, associating an ID of the user for the application to the NFT, and receiving a selection of the NFT during use of the application. Upon selection, the selected NFT is provided to the user device for superimposing the selected NFT over the user's face, providing the selected NFT as a background image for the video data on the user device, or both. The user device includes a web application that connects the database to a crypto wallet containing the NFT. The NFT may be processed to crop out the eyes and mouth of the NFT for registration with the user's eyes and mouth when the NFT is superimposed over the user's face.

  • Publication number: 20230063944
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling Internet of Things (IoT) devices using an augmented reality (AR) camera are provided. The system includes a sensor and a server that receives an input from the sensor and presents an AR object on the display of the AR camera device that corresponds to the input from the sensor. A response to the displayed AR object from a user of the AR camera device is used to select a command to send to one or more IoT devices to perform an action corresponding to the user response to the displayed AR object. In an example, an AR smoke object is overlayed on the AR camera display in response to a smoke detection signal from a smoke detector. In response to the user swiping or gesturing to push away the AR smoke object, a window opening command is sent to one or more IoT enabled windows.

  • Publication number: 20230063194
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling an Internet of Things (IoT) device through interaction with an augmented reality (AR) object includes pairing an AR object with an IoT device, presenting the AR object on a display of an AR camera device of a user, receiving an interaction signal indicating that the user has interacted with the AR object on the display of the AR camera device, and sending a control signal to the IoT device paired with the AR object in response to the interaction signal. A second user may request presentation of the AR object to the AR display of the AR camera device of the user when the user's AR camera device is located at particular world coordinates. Also, the control signal may be sent when a particular series of interactions with the AR object have been completed, as during game play.

  • Publication number: 20220351279
Abstract: A system and method for viewing a virtual digital object created from components having cryptocurrency value includes receiving a selection of at least one of an avatar, a captured image of the user or a third party, or a digital scene and receiving a selection of the virtual digital object for display on the selected avatar or captured image or within the digital scene. The virtual digital object includes metadata relating to at least one of cryptocurrency value of the virtual digital object, creation of the virtual digital object, and rules governing use and ownership of the virtual digital object. The user may manipulate the displayed virtual digital object within the display and may elect to display at least part of the metadata (e.g., price) along with the virtual digital object. The display of the virtual digital object may be captured and forwarded via a messaging or social media application.

  • Publication number: 20220351280
Abstract: A system and method for creating a virtual digital object comprising a plurality of components includes receiving from a user selections of a plurality of components for use in creating the virtual digital object. Each component has a cost designated in cryptocurrency that is presented for acceptance by the user. Upon acceptance, a cost tally for the virtual digital object is updated. Upon completion, the virtual digital object is minted by subtracting a total cost tally in cryptocurrency from a digital wallet of the user and by interacting with a smart contract including the virtual digital object and metadata relating to at least one of valuation of the virtual digital object, creation of the virtual digital object, and rules governing use and ownership of the virtual digital object. The minted virtual digital object is added to the user's digital wallet and optionally uploaded to an online gallery for purchase.
