  • Patent number: 11812691
Abstract: The disclosure proceeds from an autonomous lawnmower having a chassis, a motor for driving a cutting device, and a height adjustment device for a displacement of the cutting device and of the motor relative to the chassis, at least for setting a working height of the cutting device relative to the chassis, in particular for setting a cutting height of a cutting tool of the cutting device, wherein the height adjustment device has a hollow cylindrical rotary body and a sliding seat surrounding the rotary body, which rotary body and sliding seat have corresponding threads such that a rotation of the rotary body results in a linear displacement of the sliding seat. One of the threads has at least two thread sections, wherein the one thread section is elastically displaceable radially in relation to the thread axis.

  • Patent number: 10399216
Abstract: A hammer/drill includes a housing, a motor with armature shaft, a spindle rotatably mounted about a longitudinal axis in the housing, a tool holder rotatingly driven by the motor about the longitudinal axis, a hammer mechanism for generating impacts acting on the tool holder, a drive shaft coupleable with the armature shaft, and a switching arrangement to switch between drilling, hammer drilling, and hammering modes. The switching arrangement comprises a selector and coupling part axially displaceable on the drive shaft between lower and upper positions, coupling and decoupling the drive shaft to the armature shaft respectively. The coupling part includes a sleeve comprising a flange, and the selector comprises a fork for engaging a lower part of the flange. A protuberance engages a drive member of the selector to pivot the selector when the spindle is rotated, engaging over only a portion of the rotational movement of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 10099359
Abstract: A pneumatic hammer has a conversion mechanism with a rotatable input member coupled to the motor and adapted to convert a rotational movement of the input member into a reciprocating movement of an output member. The input member is formed as a first carrier which supports a first planet gear. A first sun gear is coaxially arranged with the first carrier, and is rotatingly driven by the drive motor. A first ring gear is movable parallel to the first axis of rotation between a first position and a second position. A second gear is rotatable around a second axis of rotation parallel to the first axis of rotation. The second gear meshingly engages with the first ring gear when the first ring gear is in the second position, and is disengaged from the first ring gear when the first ring gear is in the first position.

  • Patent number: 10046451
Abstract: A power tool includes a housing and a handle having two ends moveably mounted to the housing via respective mountings, at least one mounting comprising a passageway formed in one end of the handle and a rod attached at one end to the housing. The rod's shaft axially slides within the passageway, enabling the handle end to move relative to the housing. A cavity within the handle end adjacent the passageway receives the rod, which has a second end within the cavity. A flange mounted adjacent the rod's other end within the cavity, unable to pass through the passageway, moves within the cavity relative to the passageway as the handle's end moves relative to the housing. A biasing mechanism within the cavity, between an internal wall of the cavity and the second end of the rod, biases the flange towards the passageway, and the handle end away from the housing.

  • Patent number: 9993915
Abstract: A tool includes a housing; a handle having first and second ends mounted thereto via respective mountings, and a biasing mechanism connected between the housing and handle. At least one mounting comprises parts mounted on the housing and end of the handle respectively, one part comprising a support, the other comprising a pin having a longitudinal axis, located in the support and capable of moving linearly or being rotated therein so the handle may move accordingly. The pin is in a passage of the support having larger length than width, allowing free movement either rotationally about its axis or linearly along the length for rotational or linear movement of the end of the handle. The width size varies along the passage, providing a convex surface along at least part of the length, engageable by the pin's side to enable pivoting within the passage about an axis parallel to the length.

  • Patent number: 7644783
Abstract: A power tool transmission is described in which an overload clutch mechanism is arranged to provide a relatively compact power tool. A torque adjustment dial is arranged between the visible portions of the motor housing and the gearbox, and the dial is coupled to a compression spring such that rotation of the dial cause the spring to be compressed or decompressed, thereby adjusting the torque at which the clutch overloads and ratchets. The compression spring is arranged at least partially between the motor and gearbox or gear train, in a space which conventional power tools do not utilized for this purpose. Thus, the dimensions of the power tool's transmission can be reduced with respect to conventional power tools. Furthermore, the space on the gearbox immediately behind a chuck can be used for another purpose other than accommodating the adjustment collar, as is the case with conventional power tools.

  • Patent number: 7591604
Abstract: A knuckle joint locking and release mechanism for a power tool having a locking mode where relative articulation between two body portions of the power tool is prevented and a release mode where relative articulation between the two body portions of the power tool is unhindered. The knuckle joint locking and release mechanism is biased into the locking mode but can be placed into the release mode by engaging an actuator pushbutton located on either side of the knuckle joint.

  • Publication number: 20090049651
Abstract: A powered hammer includes a body in which is disposed a motor and a hammer mechanism driven by the motor when the motor is activated. A tool holder is coupled to a front portion of the body and which is capable of holding a cutting tool. The hammer mechanism, when driven by the motor, is capable of imparting impacts to a cutting tool, when held by the tool holder. A handle is moveably coupled to a rear portion of the body for movement toward and away from the body along a tool axis of the tool holder. The handle includes a grip portion and first and second end connection sections coupled to opposite end portions of the grip portion. The first and second end connection sections are slideably mounted on first and second arms that project rearward from the body. A movement control mechanism is mounted inside the handle and coupled to the first and second arms and the handle.

  • Publication number: 20060096770
Abstract: A knuckle joint 64 is provided, which is particularly suited to power tools where it is desired to provide an articulation between two body portions 58, 54. A knuckle joint locking mechanism prevents relative movement of the two body portions. The knuckle joint can be unlocked by pressing an actuator pushbutton into the joint, thereby disengaging teeth 84, 86 of the locking mechanism with at least one set of teeth 104, 108 on joint portions 150, 160 of the body portions. The pushbutton can be pressed into the joint from either side of the joint, thus providing a knuckle joint which can be unlocked to allow relative movement of the joint from either side of the joint. A spring 88 is provided to urge the locking mechanism into a locking position.
