  • Publication number: 20230100209
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for preventing damage of components of a heat exchanger. In some aspects, a system includes an impingement device for the distribution of fluid flow through an inlet of a heat exchanger that includes a first set of members configured to be disposed between an inlet and one or more process tubes of a heat exchanger and arranged in a first orientation, and a second set of members disposed between the first set of members and the inlet. Each member of the second set of members is arranged in a second orientation that is angularly disposed relative to the first orientation.

  • Publication number: 20230072169
Abstract: A system and a method for steam cracking hydrocarbons are disclosed. The system includes a steam cracking furnace that includes ceramic radiant coils. The system is configured to heat the radiant coils by oxy-fuel combustion in the firebox. The system further includes an oxygen production unit configured to produce pure oxygen used for the oxy-fuel combustion. The effluent from the steam cracking furnace can be further separated into various product streams or fed into a polymerization unit.

  • Patent number: 11395981
Abstract: Systems and methods of removing coke/tar from water in a quench water recycling loop of a steam cracker quench system are disclosed. The systems include a quench water separator that has a feed calming compartment for reducing eddies in feed to the quench water separator. The feed calming compartment is defined, at least in part, by a perforated baffle in the quench water separator. The methods include the use of the quench water separator with the perforated baffle and the calming compartment to separate coke/tar from quench water in the quench water recycling loop.

  • Patent number: 11203556
Abstract: Systems and methods for producing dicyclopentadiene from cyclopentadiene using reactive jet mixing are disclosed. A C5 hydrocarbon mixture that comprises cyclopentadiene (C5H6) is injected as a jet stream into C5 hydrocarbon liquid in a reactor tank. Under appropriate reaction conditions, cyclopentadiene is dimerized to form dicyclopentadiene.
