    Abstract: Described herein are various antimicrobial soda lime glass articles that have improved resistance to discoloration when exposed to harsh conditions, including manufacturing conditions. The improved antimicrobial glass articles described herein generally include a SLG substrate that has a thickness, t; a compressive stress layer of about 0.15*t or greater; and an antimicrobial agent-containing region having an antimicrobial agent and a thickness less than the thickness of the compressive stress layer. Roughly 2 to 20 microns of the primary surfaces of the glass substrate can be removed prior to development of the compressive stress and antimicrobial agent-containing region. In some aspects, prior-annealed and tempered, or prior-annealed, SLG is employed as the substrate. In some aspects, the substrate includes tin at one surface. The improved SLG substrates experience substantially no discoloration when exposed to harsh conditions. Methods of making and using the glass articles are also described.

The test apparatus can be used in methods of determining a crush strength of an edge of a substrate. Methods can comprise aligning the probe with a test location of the substrate at a predetermined angle relative to a probe axis. Methods can further comprise applying a mechanical force to the test location with the probe in the direction of the probe axis. Also, methods can comprise increasing the mechanical force applied by the probe until the substrate cracks or a predefined force applied by the probe is reached. Based on the mechanical force applied by the probe, a crush strength of an edge can be determined.

    Abstract: A multi-layer and method of making the same are provided. The multi-layer, such as a sensor, can include a high strength glass overlay and a lamination layer on a substrate layer. The overlay can be less than 250 micrometers thick and have at least one tempered surface incorporating a surface compression layer of at least 5 micrometers deep and a surface compressive stress of at least 200 MPa. The overlay can exhibit a puncture factor of at least 3000 N/?m2 at B10 (10thpercentile of the probability distribution of failure) in a multi-layer structure, an apparent thickness of less than 0.014 mm, and a pencil hardness greater than 6H. The method can include ion-exchange tempering at least one major surface of a glass sheet, light etching the major surface to remove flaws and laminating the glass sheet on the tempered and lightly etched major surface to a substrate layer.

The user may select content by browsing through a graphical user interface and indicating selections. The user may also select content when viewing a program by selecting an advertisement for an upcoming movie or series that the subscriber may be interested in viewing. The clips may be recorded and stored on the subscriber's DVR, and then later retrieved and viewed by using an interface to navigate and select the stored sneak peek clips. After viewing the sneak peek clips, the user may be provided with the option of viewing the content in full.
