Abstract: The invention relates to a method for initializing a motor vehicle, said motor vehicle comprising an assembly having a rolling chassis and a body provided on the rolling chassis. A check is made as to which components and functions are available in the rolling chassis and which components and functions are available in the body. There is a further determination of which components and functions are available in the combined assembly of rolling chassis and body. Parameters are then assigned to the components and functions in the rolling chassis and the body according to this determination.
