  • Patent number: 10007769
Abstract: A device to apply a digital fingerprint to a digital signal comprises a means of intercepting or acquiring a signal, a storage element and a processor for executing computer implemented program code components in the storage element to effect the methods. The methods include transforming a plurality of signal samples onto a discrete orthonormal basis and ranking the transformed samples according to their magnitude. The n largest principal components of the ranked transformed samples are optionally permuted to generate a re-ordered set of principal components, which are then altered by a marking angle. The marked principal components and unmarked non-principal components are converted and combined and applying an inverse of the transform function to the combined principal and non-principal components to generate a fingerprinted digital signal. Methods to prepare the signal for marking, recover the digital fingerprint and verify the distributor and/or recipients of the signal are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9813181
Abstract: A device for modulating communication signals comprises a transceiver for receiving and transmitting the signal, a storage medium storing computer implemented programme code components to generate sequences and a processor in communication with the storage medium and transceiver. The processor executes computer implemented programme code components to generate a family of shift sequences or arrays using exponential, logarithmic or index functions and a polynomial or a rational function polynomial in i?p?1 for a finite field p of prime p. Multiple columns of the arrays are substituted with pseudo-noise sequences or other suitable good correlation sequences in a cyclic shift equal to the shift sequence for the respective column to generate a substituted array. The substituted array, or a sequence unfolded using the CRT from the array when the array dimensions are relatively prime, is applied to a carrier wave of the communication signal to generate a modulated communication signal.

The processor executes computer implemented programme code components to generate a family of shift sequences or arrays using exponential, logarithmic or index functions and a polynomial or a rational function polynomial in t?p?1 for a finite field p of prime p.

The processor executes computer implemented program code components to generate a family of shift sequences or arrays using exponential, logarithmic or index functions and a polynomial in i?Zp?1 for a finite field Zp of prime p. Multiple columns of the arrays are substituted with pseudo-noise sequences in a cyclic shift equal to the shift sequence for the respective column to generate a substituted array. The substituted array, or a sequence unfolded using the CRT from the array when the array dimensions are relatively prime, is applied to a carrier wave of the communication signal to generate a modulated communication signal.

  • Patent number: 8934663
Abstract: A device for applying or extracting a digital watermark of two or more dimensions and a method of applying or extracting the digital watermark. The digital watermark is generated by adding a suitable number of watermarking arrays. • Patent number: 7218234
Abstract: An electronic bait station utilising the disruption of an electromagnetic field to detect the movement of insects or small animals within the station. The bait station consists of a housing, with at least one cavity having an electromagnetic radiation element generating an electromagnetic field in the cavity, and an electromagnetic receiving element detecting the electromagnetic field. Movement of an insect or small animal in the cavity causes a change in the electromagnetic field, which is detected. The preferred bait station comprises an outer cavity and a coaxial inner cavity, each with an electromagnetic field. This arrangement allows the direction of movement of insects and small animals to be determined and minimises the occurrence of spurious signals.

  • Patent number: 7176828
Abstract: Method and apparatus for extracting coherent information from in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) signals. In a form, signals from an antenna array are mixed to form a plurality of I and Q signals that combined to form respective complex vectors. Each vector is adjusted in phase and magnitude to compensate for variations in field signal patterns, summed with other vectors, spatially and temporally filtered, and processed using spectral analysis algorithms to extract coherent spatial information. The coherent spatial information may be used to detect the presence, number and activity of insects within a structure in the near field of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 6313643
Abstract: A method and apparatus of detecting termites in which microwaves are transmitted into a region and reflected microwaves are detected. The received signals are processed to identify the presence or otherwise of termites or other insects. Various hardware configurations and signal processing algorithms are described including planar antenna arrays and neural net signal processing. The system comprises a microwave assembly, modulator and a processor. Microwaves are transmitted into a structure and the reflected microwaves are received in the microwave assembly. The output of the processor is displayed on a display.
