Abstract: A track structure for a crawler track of a crawler vehicle, a crawler track employing such a track structure, and method of making the track structure are provided wherein the track structure comprises an ultra high molecular weight polymeric material having a molecular weight of at least two million. The track structure may also be defined as a laminated construction having at least a portion thereof utilizing ultra high molecular weight polymeric material and the track structure may also have friction elements embedded in the polymeric material.

Abstract: A fire extinguishing apparatus and method of extinguishing a fire employing same are provided for an engine compartment of an engine drive vehicle in which the vehicle has an engine and a cooling system therefor employing a cooling liquid under pressure and the fire extinguishing apparatus comprises a system operatively connected to the cooling system for employing the cooling liquid under pressure and automatically spraying the cooling liquid in the compartment in response to a fire therein.

Abstract: A convoluted hose construction is provided and comprises an elongated elastomeric strip having a base and first and second connecting members extending in the same direction from the base with the first connecting member extending from a central part of the base to define a lateral extension of the base outwardly of the first connecting member and the second connecting member extending from an end portion of the base. The strip is disposed in a helical pattern with the first and second connecting members connected to define the hose construction having a plurality of helical turns defining alternating crests and troughs and the lateral extension cooperates with the base to provide the hose construction with a substantially smooth inside surface even with the hose construction extending in a curved path.
