    Abstract: A digital device for monitoring objects whose states are characterized by two-positioned signals, e.g., yes-no, on-off, etc., allows necessary instructions to be formed, on the basis of an analysis of these signals, and transmits them to other digital external devices, such as digital computers, recorders and displays. Various instructions are stored in a memory and can be selected at random, and read out and applied to the external devices during data presentation, or can be used in controlling the operation of the inventive device during an analysis of the states of the devices being monitored. The instruction memory can also be charged with various programs to apply data to the external devices. Such data application program is selected by analyzing the state of the monitored device, at the moment it has changed state. The processing of such programs is discontinued if a higher-priority data transmission means is ready to transmit data.

    Abstract: The proposed simulator of a target which moves relative to a moving object comprises a synchronization means to form signals corresponding to the variable azimuth of the direction of space, scanned by radar installed on the object and to the variable distance of scanned space points; and a group of transducers to form signals which carry information on the course and speed of the object. The transducers are connected to a channel for forming a signal to simulate the target. The channel comprises a group of transducers to form signals carrying information on the true course and actual speed of the target, and a computer to form signals carrying information on the azimuth of the target and the distance between the target and the object. The channel further includes logical circuits to form pulse signals whose timing in relation to respective reference pulses corresponds to the azimuth of and the distance to the target.

    Abstract: An automatic shipboard collision avoidance system comprises radar; a situation indicator connected to the radar receiver; a computer, which extracts target echoes from clutter and determines the coordinates and motion parameters of targets; an interface through which the computer is connected to the situation indicator; a target tracking gate unit connected via the interface to the computer and having a count pulse generator, a current range counter, range comparison circuits, a gate generator and a signal-half gate generator; a video signal encoder connected to the radar and, via said interface, to said computer and having a threshold circuit, a quantizer, a selector and a buffer storage. A control signal unit generates control signals to control the gain of the radar and sign characters of the count pulses and is connected through the interface to the computer. Usually, noise would be a problem in rough seas or in the presence of intense hydrometeors.
