  • Publication number: 20060216342
Abstract: The invention is directed to an improved drug delivery system that includes a micelle, comprising polyethylene glycol and a lipid component, and a pharmaceutical agent dispersed in the lipid component. The delivery system may also include a targeting ligand. The micelle delivery system of the invention is capable of stabilizing, inter alia, poorly soluble pharmaceutical agents and increasing their delivery efficacy. Appropriate pharmaceutical agents useful in the system of the invention include anti-inflammatory agents, agents for photodynamic therapy, anti-tumor agents, anti-neoplastic agents, anti-metastatic agents, and imaging agents, as well as hydrophobized derivatives thereof. Specifically, the pharmaceutical agent can be porphyrin, chlorine-6-trimethyl ester, tamoxifen, paclitaxel, 1,3-bis(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea, camptothecin, ellipticine, rhodamine, dequalinium, diphenylhexatriene, vitamin K3, diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid, or a functional derivative thereof.

  • Patent number: 4453348
Abstract: An apparatus for abrasive machining of workpieces comprises a base in the form of a carriage, a tool head having a spindle with an abrasive tool fastened thereto, an articulated four-bar linkage, a drive for rotating the abrasive tool and an actuating cylinder for urging the abrasive tool to a workpiece, the actuating cylinder being pivotally mounted on the base and a movable link thereof being pivotally connected to one link of the articulated four-bar linkage. The spindle of the tool head is arranged in a plane of the articulated four-bar linkage and connected to the drive for rotating the abrasive tool through a telescoping cardan shaft to thereby considerably reduce the bulk of the tool head movable parts and improve the tracing of the tool over the surface of the workpiece being machined.

  • Patent number: 4407095
Abstract: A device for abrasive cleaning of blanks shaped as bodies of revolution is intended to be used in the shops of metallurgical and engineering works for rough grinding of external surface of blanks. The device comprises two wheelheads with rotating tools (7), a movable table (2), a headstock (3) and a footstock (4), carrying centers (5) for the blank, and a blank rotation drive (17). On the table (2) there are mounted a stand (13) and the footstock (4) interconnected by two guides (15) disposed in a vertical plane passing through the line of the centers (5). The headstock (3) is mounted on the guides (15) to be displaced along them.

  • Patent number: 4266922
Abstract: A mold comprises a base, a split die and a plunger. The base has longitudinal shoulders with resilient elements, and sloping surfaces which form an upwardly flaring nest adapted to accommodate a vertically movable die. The side walls of the die have their sloping surfaces in contact with the sloping surfaces of the longitudinal shoulders and, together with the die end walls, are placed around the die bottom. Provided between the base and the die are means for lifting the latter and means for supporting the die bottom in the raised position after the die has been lowered. Such die construction makes it possible to reduce the time required for its assembly and disassembly, as well as for detaching the finished abrasive segment from the die walls.
