  • Patent number: 4205030
Abstract: A method for extrusion of a highly viscous thermosetting or a thermoplastic material comprising extrusion of said material in the presence of substances diminishing external friction of the melt, at a ratio between internal and external friction values of the material melt within the range of from 1.5 to 4.0; the thermosetting material melt viscosity being ranged from 50.times.10.sup.6 to 300.times.10.sup.6 poises, while the thermoplastic material melt index being varied from 0.01 to 0.1 g/10 min.The ratio between internal and external friction values of the material melt is maintained within the above-specified range by way of incorporation, into the starting thermosetting or thermoplastic material, of certain compounds. For thermosetting materials, use is made of, e.g. zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, and for thermoplastic materials barium sulphonate is used as such a compound.

  • Patent number: 4194996
Abstract: A compression-molding composition contains a phenol-formaldehyde resin, a filler, a curing agent, viz. hexamethylenetetramine, a curing accelerator such as calcium oxide or magnesium oxide, and a lubricant such as stearin or stearates. The filler comprises a product resulting from the treatment of crushed wood with an aqueous solution of phenol and formaldehyde at the boiling temperature of said solution in the presence of hydrochloric acid at a weight ratio between phenol, formaldehyde, water, hydrochloric acid, crushed wood equal to 0.15-0.80:0.045-0.864:6-15:0.0435-0.1086:1 respectively. Proportions of the components are as follows, parts by weight:______________________________________ phenol-formaldehyde resin 15 to 45 filler 47.5 to 75 curing agent 7 to 9 curing accelerator 0.5 to 1 lubricant 0.6 to 0.9 ______________________________________The compression-molding composition according to the present invention has an increased water-resistance (17 to 19 mg), heat-resistance (up to 182.degree. C.
