    Abstract: The present invention relates to a pin tumbler cylinder lock having a cylinder casing and a plug selectively rotatable in the casing, and a plurality of driver pins and associated tumbler pins rotatable about their longitudinal axes. The cylinder lock includes a plurality of parallel circumferential tracks formed in the cylinder casing. Each of the tumbler pins is adapted and configured to seat in the plug and includes a track engaging element arranged to selectively engage one of said tracks. The tumbler pins are arranged to align both vertically and horizontally with matching depressions in a symmetrical key, in order to permit the turning of the plug in the cylinder casing when the key is turned.

In one embodiment, the transmission control lever of the vehicle is thus locked to the floor-mounted handbrake lever; and in a second described embodiment, the steering wheel is thus locked to a transmission control member mounted on the steering column.

    Abstract: A padlock, comprising: a housing formed with a pair of sockets, a shackle receivable in and removable from said sockets and a pair of locking bolts projectable into said sockets for locking the shackle therein and retractable from said sockets to permit removal from the shackle therefrom; characterized in that said housing includes a body member carrying said locking bolt, and a pair of sleeves defining said sockets; said sleeves being removably attached to opposite sides of said body member by fasteners received in said sockets so as not to be accessible when the shackle is locked within said sleeves.
