  • Patent number: 4129220
Abstract: Bar stock feed apparatus generally comprising an elongated tubular member adapted to receive a length of bar stock therein and a standard for supporting the tubular member in a feed position wherein the tubular member is aligned with the lathe spindle and in a second position wherein the tubular member is out of alignment with the spindle so that the stock can be loaded therein. A fluid actuated plunger is received in the tubular member and is advanced by pneumatic pressure supplied to the rear of the tube through an annular passageway formed by a pair of concentric tubes. A locking mechanism, which clamps the feed tube in position, includes a valve which controls the flow of air to the plunger and automatically interrupts the supply of air when the tubular member is not locked in place. A safety valve is positioned to be contacted by the tubular member when in its operative locked position and serves to bleed air from the supply line when the tubular member is not in the feed position.

  • Patent number: 4058758
Abstract: A single-ended converter circuit operating in a transformer coupled mode is disclosed having multiple outputs. A current limiting circuit is included on the primary side of the power transformer to limit the total aggregate current output of the converter. Secondary current limiting circuitry is included in selected ones of the multiple outputs to individually limit current outputs of the converter. A similar current limiting arrangement is disclosed for application to double-ended type converter circuits.

  • Patent number: 4056734
Abstract: A single-ended self-oscillating DC-to-DC converter is disclosed including base drive compensation circuitry. Compensation circuitry is active during saturation intervals of the power transistor to control its forced current gain at some fixed value irrespective of the magnitude of a saturated current flowing through the transistor.

  • Patent number: 3989995
Abstract: In a typical self-oscillating, single-ended converter that is pulse width modulated to regulate the output signal, duty cycle changes to stabilize the output signal cause the switching frequency of the converter to vary. The switching frequency of the single-ended converter disclosed herein is stabilized by controlling the on and off durations of the switching device in an inverse proportional relationship to each other. The relation is controlled by adjusting the charging threshold of a timer circuit controlling the conducting interval of the switching devices in response to a voltage regulation error signal which controls the nonconducting interval thus limiting the total period of the switching device to a fixed interval.

  • Patent number: 3965374
Abstract: Disclosed is a circuit for controlling the switching duration of inverting switching devices. The circuit comprises a capacitor connected to the output of the controlled switching device, a resistor connected between the capacitor and a common terminal, and a double Zener diode connected between the switching device's input and the capacitor-resistor junction.
