Abstract: A coaxial gas flow silencer for a firearm having an outer sleeve or cylinder forming an outer surface of the silencer and an inner sleeve or cylinder forming an inner surface of the silencer. Within the inner cylinder is a core portion having a bore through which a projectile will travel, and one or more expansion chambers for expanding exhaust gas from the firing of a cartridge. The space between the inner an outer cylinders forms a first passage for a first portion of exhaust gas, exiting the silencer through a number of radially arranged openings at a periphery of an end plate at the muzzle end of the silencer. The inner cylinder and core portion form a second passage for a second portion of exhaust gas exiting via the bore through a central opening in the face plate.

Abstract: A silencer for a firearm has a substantially cylindrical external housing with an attachment part, an intermediate part with a number of elements, and an outer muzzle part. The silencer can be releasably connected to an attachment element mounted on the barrel of a firearm. The silencer's attachment part is provided with a number of cut-outs round its circumference. The cut-outs are composed of a first portion extending longitudinally and a second portion extending over the circumference of the attachment part. The two portions are connected by an intermediate portion. In the first portion, at least one of the cut-outs will be provided with at least one bead and at least one slot is provided adjacent to the first portion extending over the circumference of the attachment part.
