  • Publication number: 20030114125
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing interpath interference between a first signal and at least one other signal is provided. The invention provides for obtaining a relative phase of the first signal and the at least one other signal, determining an interference component on the first signal caused by the at least one other signal, and removing the interference component from the first signal. The invention is particularly adapted for non-coherent mean-value calculations in a RAKE receiver.

  • Publication number: 20020136234
Abstract: Path delays experienced by a received signal are estimated for use in, for example, a RAKE receiver. This involves hypothesizing a plurality of path delays. For each of a plurality of measurement time slots and for each of the hypothesized path delays, a measurement based on the received signal is made along with a determination of whether a fade occurred. For each of the plurality of measurement time slots and for each of the hypothesized path delays, the measurement is combined with a corresponding one of a plurality of cumulative metrics only if it was determined that no fade occurred. Then, for each of the plurality of hypothesized path delays, the corresponding one of the plurality of cumulative metrics is used to determine whether the hypothesized path delay corresponds to a real path delay.

  • Publication number: 20020039654
Abstract: An insulated DC-cable and method for production of an insulated DC-cable with an insulating system comprising an extruded cross-linked polyethylene based insulation disposed around the conductor. The extruded polyethylene based compound comprises additives such as cross-linking agent, scorch retarding agent and antioxidant. The scorch retarding agent comprises a compound (D), 2,4-diphenyl-4-methyl-pentene-1 and the antioxidant comprises a compound (C), a diester of 3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionicacid and thiodiglycol. The compounded polyethylene based resin composition is extruded and cross-linked at a temperature and for a period of time sufficient enough to cross link the insulation. The temperature and the period of time upon extrusion and cross-linking are limited so as to substantially suppress or essentially avoid undesired polar by-products being formed in the cross-linked composition.
