Patent number: 9687350Abstract: A prosthesis having: a) a first assembly with a first base portion to be placed against, and operatively secured to, a patient's first bone; and b) a second assembly with a second base portion to be placed against, and operatively secured to, a patient's second bone. The first and second assemblies respectively define first and second surfaces that cooperate with each other to guide articulated movement between the first and second bones. At least one of the first and second base portions is configured to cooperate with a separate first component defining at least a part of one of the first and second surfaces to maintain the first component in an operative state. A second component is configured to define at least a part of the one of the first and second surfaces and can be placed in an operative state selectively in place of the first component.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2014Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: TRIMED, INC.Inventor: Anders Hakansson

Patent number: 9468533Abstract: A method of reconstructing a patient's wrist. A prosthesis is provided having proximal and distal assemblies. The distal assembly has a body with a U-shaped portion. The proximal and distal assemblies have surfaces that cooperate to guide movement between the proximal and distal assemblies. The proximal assembly is fixed to the patient's radius. The hand is prepared for placement of the distal assembly by removing cartilage against a plurality of carpal bones without significantly altering the configuration of stable volume of at least one of the patient's carpal bones in the first carpal row. The U-shaped portion of the body is placed against a plurality of bones in the first carpal row. Separate locations on the body are secured to a plurality of carpal bones.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2014Date of Patent: October 18, 2016Assignee: TriMed, Inc.Inventors: Philippe Saffar, Anders Hakansson

Patent number: 7524932Abstract: A method for producing an oligomeric form of ?-lactalbumin which is in the molten globule-like state is described. The method suitably comprises exposing a source of ?-lactalbumin in which the ?-lactalbumin is preferably in the molten globule-like state, to an ion exchange medium which has been pre-treated with casein or an active component thereof, such as oleic acid, and recovering ?-lactalbumin in an oligomeric form therefrom. Pre-treatment of the ion exchange medium, particularly with casein derived from human milk, has been found to significantly improve yields of the oligomeric form of ?-lactalbumin and mean that it can readily isolated from readily available sources such as bovine ?-lactalbumin. This form of ?-lactalbumin is useful therapeutically, in particular as an antibacterial agent and also as an anti-cancer therapeutic.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2006Date of Patent: April 28, 2009Assignee: Nya Hamlet Pharma ABInventors: Catharina Svanborg, Per Anders Hakansson, Malin Wilhelmina Svensson

Patent number: 7464962Abstract: A novel safety device for the driver's cabin of a truck, wherein the driver's cabin demonstrates at least one driver seat (10, 16) with a first side (10a) facing a side window and a second side (10b) opposite the first side, is suggested. The safety device comprises a safety net (20), which is spread next to the second side (10b) of the driver seat (10) at least in the event of a rollover accident. The safety net can be permanently spread next to the driver seat, or it can be rolled up or folded together in the state of rest and only be spread next to the driver seat when needed. The safety net prevents the person sitting on the driver seat from falling to the opposite inner structure of the driver's cabin when the driver's cabin rolls over (FIG. 10).Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2007Date of Patent: December 16, 2008Assignee: Autoliv Development ABInventors: Anders Hakansson, Yngve Háland, Erik Hjerpe

Patent number: 6405391Abstract: A bunk for a bunk arrangement in a truck cab has at a free edge vertical safety belts preferably attached to the ceiling of the cab, and a safety net. At its free edge the bunk has a longitudinal cartridge for the safety net. A net rod at the upper edge of the net has a locking device at each belt, the locking device guiding the rod along the belt and locking it thereto unless manually released against spring bias.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2000Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Assignee: Klippan Safety ABInventor: Anders Hakansson
