  • Publication number: 20050122903
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement for relayed services in a mobile telecommunication system comprising a plurality of mobile communication terminals, from which an established point-to-point connection either originates or terminates. The arrangement includes mobile communication terminals (1-5) operating in a mobile packet switched communication network, such as a third generation general packet radio service network and a global and universal interconnecting network, such as the TCP/IP-based Internet.

  • Patent number: 6868391
Abstract: A tele/datacommunications network has a service node (TSN) (30) which facilitates payment/transfer from a customer account of a customer financial institution (80) to a merchant account of a merchant financial institution (90). The TSN (30) acquires a merchant identifier and transaction amount from a customer mobile station (60). The TSN (30) sends a transaction verification request message to both the customer mobile station (60) and the merchant terminal (70). Upon receipt of transaction verification, the TSN (30) requests transfer of the transaction amount from the customer account to the merchant account.

  • Publication number: 20020023139
Abstract: In a data system comprising cache servers a forecast function is implemented in a particular forecast caching server. The addition of such a function enables the cache system to cache data that have a higher probability of being demanded than is the case for conventional cache servers/cache server systems. Thus, the forecast function instructs cache servers to which it is connected to pre-fetch data or to store or not to store data that is fetched from original source servers to serve customers in each area of caching servers served by the forecast caching server, via a certain protocol. The forecast caching server keeps a database of all the addresses of all stored pages in all caching servers that it controls, as well as historic data.

  • Patent number: 6134589
Abstract: A network connection between an origination node (30-1) and a destination node (40) is dynamically determined and established during a tele/datacommunications session. At commencement of the session the originating node provides (i) an address of the destination node, and (ii) a set of prescribed quality connection parameters. During the session, the set of prescribed quality connection parameters is used by a quality connection server (20) to determine an acceptable sequence of links between the originating node and the destination node. In accordance with the determination, the quality connection server sets up connections over the acceptable sequence of links whereby data packets are transmitted between the originating node and the destination node during the session.
